Back from Norway. Talked OB leave with local: they must stop work at 37w0d. PP leave start @ birth, each parent gets ~16 weeks, then 16 more weeks split between parents (all of this 100% paid), &, if desired, can get rest of year @ 80% salary. Embarrassed to explain our PP leave.

@JohnsonGabbie We have all been there. Soon, you will be the absolute best senior/chief guiding your intern through call. FWIW: I also had (have?) imposter syndrome. What helped me survive PGY1 was my chief's mantra: I may not be the best they've ever seen, but I know I'm not the worst.

I had an absolutely terrible first night of solo call that absolutely wrecked what little modicum of confidence I had going into this year. But I also realized I have the absolute best seniors and chiefs to guide and support me through it.

@l_deliberto The same thing happened with me! Exhilarating but terrifying bday as first PGY1 day on LDR. Reading & hearing messages from loved ones kept me grounded when the transition felt unsettling--hope it did the same thing for you.

@BrownObGyn's MFM fellows with Dwight Rouse, celebrating his LifeBoat Award at @BPolnaszek's graduation. Brock & I met in 2017 @WashU_OBGYN as(he was PGY1, I was PGY6). It's been an absolute joy watching him hit home run after home run the last 7 years. Congrats! We will miss you

Almost a week ago I graduated @BrownObGyn residency. What a cornucopia of emotions, but mostly gratitude for the village that supported me. A special thank you to my mentors @AKLewkowitz and @BPolnaszek for an incredibly thoughtful graduation speech. I’m gonna miss this place 🤎

Really impressed by @BPolnaszek and the other graduating fellows from @womenandinfants and @BrownObGyn. Tonight, they presented their thesis projects. Each study was elegantly done, with clear direction towards clinically meaningful next steps. Congrats!

Had a few papers that were submitted as full manuscripts be rejected as manuscripts but invited to be resubmitted research letters. Shouldn't complain, but it does hurt a little to delete all those words...

@AKLewkowitz I have been in that position before and I think it’s generally worthwhile to resubmit as a letter, especially if the journal is reputable. I don’t think it detracts from the value of the work and can still be used as a basis for grants, etc.

@BrownObGyn resident research day. Started with phenomenal grand rounds by @AFriedmanPeahl about the many steps she's taken to collaboratively change PNC. Followed by 8 stellar presentations in all aspects of OBGYN and of all study types. Proud to be faculty @womenandinfants

@AnishaKMD For our IVIDA2 study, we are looking at infant neurodevelopment at 4-6m via non-sedating MRI, dev peds assessment, and EEG. Anticipating some interesting findings :)

@AKLewkowitz Yes I remember reading this! But we know that iron-dependent neurodevelopment is happening in the third trimester so I'm curious to see what new studies show.
