@RampCapitalLLC No. I bought it in 2007, couldn't sell it in 2011, rented it for a year (do not recommend long distance landlording a 1950s home), and finally sold it in 2012.

@Breck_Maynokur It's really about managing expectations and realizing kids don't need a lot of things or activities and primarily care about whether they're getting enough hugs. (disclosure, did not feel this way until I emerged from postpartum depression)

@ramit I learned this early when I couldn't sell my house in 2011. There's nothing passive about rental income...especially if the home is circa-1950 with a leaking toilet.

After working in both industries: I have no clue where anyone I work with in real estate went to school or what they studied. Everyone in finance makes sure to let me know where they went to school.

@bradford_hardin I'm the youngest person to have survived the last housing cycle...so I woke up one day and suddenly went from 7 years of being the youngest to old when hiring started again in ~2014.
