The fact that adult men groom children is abhorrent and a stain on the soul of humanity. However, this has been turned into a racist attack despite the fact that the biggest threat to children comes from white British men (likewise the risk to women).

The right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy, but there is never any justification for attacking police officers, intimidating communities or descending into violent disorder. These sentences for those rioting in Southampton last week send a clear message that violence on our streets will never be tolerated and you should expect to feel the full force of the law. I pay tribute to the officers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public.

What is most important about the absolutely horrific attack in Northern Ireland is, first, the victim and his family and, second, that the attacker was completely insane. No normal African or Sudanese person thinks that beheading people is acceptable. There is a legitimate question about how the attacker was granted refugee status in 2023. And he ought to be now deported, without question. But the biggest and more difficult challenge, which politicians and commentators are predictably avoiding, is the extreme mental disorder of people who commit such heinous crimes. We need to have a robust policy response about how to properly detect, monitor and detain people with dangerous mental disorders that are a threat to public safety. But loads of politicians or journalists can’t be bothered to properly investigate, because it’s not politically fashionable, they’re addicted to social media and/or the systems in place for those with dangerous disorders are complex to understand bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The horrific attack in Belfast last night is sickening. I have absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets. My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim, and I thank the first responders, including members of the public who intervened.

This has been a difficult week and they have sought to weaponise it for their own malevolent means despite the express wishes of the Nowak family, We must call out their hatred and fight for the values we believe in. Fairness, diversity, tolerance, equality. They hate it all. And each of them uses their platform to try and undermine these values that we cherish. The vast majority of people can see what they are trying to do and want it to stop. We need to stand together to ensure that happens.

Some final thoughts on the 5Pillars LGBTQ controversy hopefully. Don't take your Islam from X. It is a profoundly unserious place with profoundly unserious people. Islam is clear cut about these issues and Islam will not change. And if you wish to actually follow Islam then the guidance on LGBTQ is very simple to understand. Those having a pop at 5Pillars on here are mainly Islamophobes whose views carry no weight. Then there are the lefties who think they can change Islam when they have no such power. And the Muslims on here having a pop are either bots pretending to be Muslim or ignorant/non practising Muslims. I have yet to receive one complaint from an educated Muslim who actually practises his/her religion. In fact, they all agree with what we have said. These are our supporters alhamdulilah, and what others say makes no difference to me.
