The 12,000 number is bullshit. It's 12 000 arrests for breaches of the communications act(s), not 12 000 arrests due to social media posts and certainly not 12 000 prison sentences. That number will include stalkers making threatening phone calls or criminals using SMS to commit fraud, etc. You can't get arrested for being politically incorrect on social media in the UK. To be in breach of the law, you'd have to post something threatening, harassing, or inciteful or grossly indecent. It would generally have to be targeted at a specific person or group. People aren't getting arrested for saying they don't agree with a particular religion or personal trait. They are arrested when they make targeted attacks on people with the intent to cause harm or incite hatred and violence. Rogan is a notorious liar.
