A few broken bones is fortunate all things considered. Could've gotten smashed between the two vehicles even completely ran over at 45 mph. Sucks for all involved especially the accident victim.

Police documents reveal that Haywood Highsmith was driving at an estimated 45 MPH in a 40 MPH zone when he hit a pedestrian from behind, per @TMZ_Sports The pedestrian appeared to be pushing a stalled car that did not have its lights on, leading to Highsmith being unable to stop in time.
