We've now had multiple reporters come out and say Swalwell's behavior was an open secret since at least 2017. So no, this is not a testament to the power of investigative reporting. If anything, it is a failure of investigative reporting. @brianstelter, I'm sorry, but this is a really bad take that suggests you might be too in love with the media you cover, and you have lost the ability to be critical of it unless it is right-wing. We've literally had local beat reporters now say this has been known since Swalwell was on a city council in 2010 and CNN reported in 2017 about a "California congressman" and never mentioned his name. Don't be so in love with the press that you can't recognize this is a spectacular failure of investigative journalism. If the press had done its job tenaciously, a lot of women would not have been victims of Swalwell. Instead, what happened was the Democratic Party spoonfed journalists here at the end to get Swalwell out of the race.

Do keep in mind, guys, that if the Pope - or any senior Church leader - were to forcefully condemn Islam or even a Muslim action it would mean scores of Christians being murdered in retaliation. This does play a role in how things are presented.

Hard to imagine Church-going Catholics flocking to any political party committed to creating an alternate reality wherein folks can change their gender at will, where men supposedly get pregnant, babies aborted, children mutilated, and marriage/family gutted of its natural divinely-ordained meaning. This country is getting wacky, but there are still sizable pockets of sanity. The question is: will the sane turn out to vote?
