@JackieAkampwera @Timlove01 Most times, forgiveness is for our own inner peace and not because they deserve it.

@Timlove01 I have been alive for some good time so clearly my experience on this planet is a mixture of both good and bad times!

By the way thieves can even be friends and our relatives. The lady that stole my phone at our wedding was a sister to my husband’s friend who was the chairperson organising committee for our Wedding, the Kla Chapter! 🤦🏾♀️
You can imagine someone frustrating you on your big day! I only have like two wedding pictures in the gardens because I was all gloomy and teary.
It’s not until the sister was arrested that he contacted me begging to release the sister and that he would refund my money.
He also actually didn’t even pay! Started playing me.
Now he laughs at my WhatsApp statuses and asks me to share those videos.
Sometimes you just forgive people to co-exist!

The same uncertainty surrounding Sydney Gongodyo 🕊️ losing his life to mob justice happened to someone l know in 2021 only that he was lucky enough to resurrect while in the mortuary and tell us the story.
He had discovered that his girlfriend was cheating, so he went to confront her and amidst the confrontation he tells the girlfriend to give back the phone since it’s him who gifted her.
After getting the phone he walks away and the chic feeling frustrated decides to shout Omubbi omubbi (thief thief) and the passersby pounce on the young man lynching him to a point where they thought he had died.
Police arrived and took the lifeless body to the mortuary in mulago, The family commenced on the preparations for burial since he was a moslem. l was so heartbroken 💔 and couldn’t sleep the entire night .
Later in the night, as he awaited being worked on by the mortuary attendant, fortunately he wakes up. That’s how he was able to tell us what happened because just like Sydney different narratives were being engineered! Too bad for the boy child. RIP Sydney! #sayNoMobJustice!

By the way, what happened to late Sydney could happen to any of us. It appears to be a well-organized trick used by some thieves now days in Kampala.
I’ve heard similar stories from friends before. A boda boda rider takes you to a certain spot, suddenly stops, and starts accusing you of trying to steal their motorcycle. Within minutes, a crowd gathers and the situation escalates.
Before you know it, other boda boda riders join in, corner you, and pressure you into handing over everything you have, cash, phones, and even your mobile money. They threaten to raise an alarm or incite the crowd against you if you refuse, leaving many victims too frightened to resist.
