“Some of the most powerful #health solutions in #Africa don’t begin in labs or boardrooms. They begin in communities, shaped by lived experience, necessity, and deep local understanding.” @daktari1. But for these ideas to thrive, they need visibility, investment, and platforms that recognise their impact. Through initiatives like the @ZSP_ORG, local innovators are gaining recognition and getting access to the support they need to grow. 🔗 Read the full article: theafricareport.com/brandcontent/4… #HealthInnovation #HealthForAll @WHOAFRO @AfricaCDC @CHReaDKenya @VillgroAfrica @aphrc

🌍 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚. From rising heat and floods to shifting disease patterns and food insecurity, #climatechange is already reshaping health risks for millions across the continent. Yet Africa still lacks enough locally generated evidence to guide climate and health policies. Today at the 2nd #PHCCongress in Nairobi, @Amref_Worldwide and partners launched the Pan-African Centre for Research and Policy on #Climate Change and #Health, hosted at @AmrefUniversity. The Centre will generate the research, policy insights, and partnerships needed to confront climate-driven health threats across #Africa, ensuring solutions are grounded in African realities. As speakers highlighted during the launch, tackling the #ClimateCrisis will require stronger research, regional collaboration, and resilient primary health care systems. Because protecting Africa’s future means protecting the health of its people. The Centre, funded by @IDRC_CRDI and @FCDOGovUK, is a collaborative effort of Amref Health Africa, Amref International University, the @UBBotswana, @KPMG, Africa International University, @PACJA1, and the @RockefellerFdn. #PHCCongress2026 #ClimateHealth #PrimaryHealthCare @WHOAFRO @AfricaCDC @Agness_A @AGNESAfrica1 @KEMRI_Wellcome

Kenya is making it happen: 88% PHC coverage, 96% Community Health Units, and 8 million Kenyans getting free care through the PHC Fund. At the 2nd #PHCCongress, @psmuthoni noted: “Resilience is more than a slogan, it must be woven into the fabric of everyday Kenyan life. True health system resilience doesn’t start in the ICU; it starts where life begins, in our communities.” She drove the point home: resilience is not just a word; it is a reality that must be built in Mandera, Homa Bay, Mathare, Lamu, and every corner of Kenya. Game-changing reforms are underway: the Primary Health Care Act, Digital Health Act, Social Health Insurance Act, and Facility Improvement Financing Act are all now in force. Let’s innovate, empower, and use data to reimagine primary health care. #Amref4PHC #PHCCongress2026 @MOH_Kenya @Chu4Uhc @Agikunda @NdiranguWanjuki

Join us at the 2nd #PHCCongress for a dynamic session on “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐇𝐂 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞: 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚.” This discussion addresses Africa’s reality: Health service coverage remains low, nearly half of health financing is un-pooled, and PHC systems underperform despite decades of investment. Through four pillars: Community Connect, Domestic Financing, Intelligence Centre, and Leadership Catalyst, the session examines what is broken and how the Accelerator is changing it. The goal is to move countries from fragmented, underperforming PHC systems to resilient, community-anchored, domestically financed, data-driven, and accountable models of care. 📅 5th March 2026 | ⏰ 3:45pm – 5:15pm 📍 @AmrefUniversity, Northlands Campus Join the conversation shaping Africa’s next generation of Primary Health Care. #PHCCongress2026

Without clear, trusted information, even the most powerful breakthroughs can stall. This is where Community Health Workers come in. They are the frontline educators, the trusted voices in our communities, and the foundation of successful implementation.
