Thank you Mike for the summary. As someone from the “other side”, I can chime in a perspective. And - I’m not trying to be obstreperous- but dialogue requires disagreeing points of view. So first - I’d generally agree with all those observations - but there is an “umbrella” one missing. The Dem Party simply holds a completely different world view and philosophy about anthropology than MAGAs. (And yes, notice the contrast is not Dem v. GOP because there are a sufficient number of GOP who buy into that same incorrect philosophy). The ESSENTIAL difference/conflict over the “nature of man” is a theological/philosophical one which EVENTUALLY trickles down into politics. The Dem problem is MUCH further back upstream. It boils down to a rejection of God - or at least an unwillingness to approach the subject. Not for nothing are an overwhelming number of atheists, agnostics found among Dem ranks. MAGA at least approached an answer to the question of the human race - what is the meaning of life? Dems either could not, or refused to, but in either case provided no answer or even tried to. It doesn’t appear to be even on their radar. In the last couple weeks, Trump styled it as “common sense” vs. chaos. Or “She broke it; I’ll fix it”. On the surface that SOUNDS like policy stuff - and it certainly INCLUDES and embraces policy, but it spoke to something far more rooted in the psyche. Dems don’t have a concept of the Divine and therefore have no vocabulary to engage with the common man who does (at least partly does.) In very, very short summary - the Dems have a “God problem”.

BREAKING: The Biden administration makes the stunning announcement that homelessness among veterans has plummeted to a record low since counting began in 2009. And it gets even better... This past January, Biden officials counted 32,882 homeless veterans, which constitutes a 55.6% decrease since 2010. Additionally, the number of unsheltered veterans dropped from 15,507 in 2023 to 13,851 in 2024. The numbers were released by the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, HUD, and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The drop is a direct result of aggressive efforts to address the problem. The VA revealed last month that it's housing roughly 48,000 veterans and is focused on a "Housing First" approach that handles shelter and then offers veterans the services they require to remain sheltered. VA Secretary Denis McDonough said that the country is "making real progress in the fight to end veteran homelessness" but added that "we still have a long way to go" and "we will not stop until every veteran has a safe, stable place to call home."
