🚨 Major Milestone Alert 🚨 I’m delighted to share that this past week we performed the very 🥇 Esophageal Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (E-POEM) at @MethodistHosp West Hospital in a patient with Type II Achalasia — successfully marking an important milestone for our institution and our patients. This represents a landmark achievement for our endoscopy team and reflects the growth of advanced therapeutic endoscopy services within our hospital. I am truly grateful to our exceptional endoscopy team, for their constant support, precision, and professionalism throughout the procedure. 🙌🏻 💪🏻 Achievements like this are never individual accomplishments — they are the result of teamwork, trust, and shared commitment to excellence. My sincere thanks to our Medical Director of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, Dr. Zamil, as well as our hospital and endoscopy leadership (Kyle Stanzel, Stacy Caster, Ann Watson & Divine Tongol) for their confidence and faith in me. Their support made it possible to bring this highly complex and technically challenging procedure to our community. Medical education has been the heartbeat of my career since 2015. I am excited to announce a new chapter as Associate Designated Institutional Officer (ADIO) for GME within the AdventHealth Central Florida Division. In this role, I will provide strategic oversight & leadership for some of our residency & fellowship programs to ensure we continue to meet the highest educational standards. While I am stepping into this broader capacity, I remain committed to the GI Fellowship in my role as PD. Deeply grateful to the mentors who have supported me from my time at the University of Iowa to today.
