♦️ICYMI♦️ The President and Commander-in-Chief, @Julius_S_Malema, speaks passionately about one of his favourite revolutionary mentors, Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, on the #EFFPodcast. We call on all South Africans to watch the Netflix documentary series, The Trials of Winnie Mandela, which offers a deeply personal and political reflection on the life of one of the most revolutionary and significant figures in our liberation struggle, Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. And that ladies and gentlemen, is leadership. Saying the unpopular knowing it will cost you votes because it is true, just and humane^. Always thankful for the EFF on this issue @Julius_S_Malema is a man.

She has worked for the Bank of Uganda for over 15 years as an Economist. I think now leading a department. You think she is there because she is a woman ? No. I think we sometimes envy those we see as better than us so we always look for a moment to project it out negatively.

Social media is an interesting place. If you have listened to more than 5 long form interviews of Pumla, you will know what she stands for and you would appreciate her thorough critical thoughts and deep knowledge of everything women and finance and financial literacy.

Guess who is opposing Dangote’s proposal to build a 1.2M barrels a day refinery in east Africa (Tanzania, Kenya and Congo) World Bank and IMF. : ))) Their argument? it would give monopoly to one company over energy. 1) All the while, French refineries are in almost every oil producing countries in Africa. 2) No African countries could get a loan to build a refinery larger than 400,000 barrels per day (one of the most profitable businesses ever). So the majority are small and struggle for profitability. 3) Nigeria oil had to be exported to Europe, refined and in many cases sold back to Nigeria and ECOWAS countries, under companies like shell and total. 4) it took until a billionaire financed the refinery in Nigeria himself to change part of that production and supply pipeline. And today, after the Hormuz blockade, EU countries are now buying oil from Dangote.

So... The President proposes his beautiful Bill. Somehow, this “beautiful Bill” is hijacked by a Cabinet that sits every Monday at his official residence. And these Cabinet meetings are chaired by the President, or his delegate. Anyway… Clauses Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five... are inserted. The Attorney General, a member of Cabinet, directly appointed by the President, and the government’s designated legal adviser, somehow sees all this. And advises that the Bill be sent to the Ministry of Finance, for which the President is the official minister, to obtain the mandatory Certificate of Financial Implications. The Ministry of Finance duly issues the Certificate of Financial Implications. And the Bill, now laden with all the smuggled-in clauses, is tabled by the Minister of State for Internal Affairs -another direct appointee and member of Cabinet. It is tabled in a Parliament whose Speaker swears to follow and fall in the name of the President, His Son, and the Daughters. Your Cabinet is present. Your Attorney General is present. For the next two weeks, your Attorney General vehemently defends the Bill on the floor and across your government’s media. Your latest big blue fish recruit, a law professor, almost without prompting, steps in to defend the Bill nonetheless. Your toad-eaters, who, also swear by the Father, if not the Son, besmirch anyone opposed to the Bill, branding them vent merchants and foreign agents. Conductor? Maaso awo ku Mulago stage

like i've warned before, mao being speaker is a catastrophe of a magnitude we're not prepared for as justice minister, he's already presided over: - the national coffee act that's actively destroyin' the coffee industry - the updf act that sought to circumvent the supreme court's rulin' that civilians should not be tried in courts martial - forcefully made opposition parties with membership in parliament to be under the ipod which put a chokehold on public fundin', thus cripplin' their activities - and now, the sovereignty bill, the most dangerous and pathetic of all yet all the while, the number of opposition members who have gone missin', been abducted, killed, or thrown in jail has increased dramatically mao, with his english that blinds most of you, will preside over a parliament that will restructure the land tenure system (nationalize it without compensation), change how you elect the president, etc he's as pathetic and rotten as they come. y'all are just blind to it because of his weak-ass oratory skills none of the things he's done so far indicate that he's on the side of the opposition or the people for that matter
Beewol@beewol

The folks who are pushing the Mao for Speaker agenda are onto something legit. If we are being honest, that man could easily be one of our most brilliant speakers yet - if he does not get into the seat to just do NRM’s bidding. My only worry is that some of the tactics being deployed by that group are sub-par. Attributing certain well worded but very false statements to AAA isn’t going to do much to worsen her image. It’s in the gutters. Plus, she doesn’t have the facilities for articulate & well thought out statements. We’ve all learnt from history that in this country, it does not matter what your image is. If the big man likes you, you’re unstoppable. It’s why proven thieves, fraudsters, corrupt individuals & incompetent people are running affairs. Instead, lobby with him directly so he can instruct his minions in Parliament (which is pretty much the whole parliament) to vote a certain way. The politics of Uganda is so rotten that our MPs won’t mind pocketing a few shillings to sell their votes. They’ve done it before, many times, they can do it again. You can’t win their hearts, they don’t have any. Pour coins into their pockets and they’ll vote anything - even a lamppost as speaker. Unfortunately it all boils down to one thing - your money vs her money. This is how low our politics has sunk. It’s ugly but it’s the truth.
