@LatvanyMate @ChrisO_wiki Availability & permission to mine are two different things. oil & gas is widely available but permission to extract & rules - see what UK has done to north sea oil & gas and also UK fracking. Will need strong politicians to push through

@AO156 @ChrisO_wiki Risk? You mean availability? It is a common metal, and we can find them from the Baltics through Central to South Europe already (I am bringing up Europe because I see you are from the UK), and important to note under current circumstances: on Greenland. Even more in the oceans.

1/ Goldman Sachs analysts report that the biggest oil crisis in history is about to hit globally, with profound and highly destructive consequences. A new report asks ""Are We Running Out of Oil?", and concludes that the answer is yes. ⬇️

@ChrisO_wiki This is what we get after we let the oil lobby and gas stations masquerading as countries to wage information warfare and write policies against civilian nuclear energy for 60 years! Nuclear reactors are the only one which can satiate our rising energy hunger.

@jperson74 @ChrisO_wiki Oil is always nationalize (oil Corp pay per barrels to extract). Taking control of oil infra without compensation is the issue, it’s what the UN ruled with regards to Venezuela & others.

@ChrisO_wiki Wouldn't be funny if we nationalize our oil in response to the crisis. We've been attacking countries around the world every time they try to nationalize their oil to benefit their own countries. Then we do the same thing.

Unless UK shipbuilders can AT LEAST halve construction & fitting out time compared to Type 26, there is absolutely zero chance of replacing all Type 45s by 2038. None. Given current uncertain state of Type 83 project, i would not want to bet money on replacing even just 1 by then

With how long it is taking to get first Type 26 operational, whatever the assumed timeline currently is we can safely say it's unworkable. Type 83 should be in build already, to have a prayer of achieving class replacement by 2038. Current Type 45 OSDs will have to change.
Ben Obese-Jecty MP@BenObeseJecty

“On current plans, the last Type 45 Destroyer will retire from service by the end of 2038.” Given that 2038 will be the last of the six to retire, what is the timeline for its replacement? Another question to clarify in the Defence Investment Plan. ukdefencejournal.org.uk/type-45-destro…

@EricDLombardi You can build HS rail like UK! £100B no trains, already shortened route making it pointless & now talking of reducing speed to run cheaper trains (same as the old lines/trains it was replacing). Funded by debt genZ will be paying off for life. But the money went to right peeps

By 2050 Canada is poised to be a century behind most developed places on rail despite having 70% of our population highly urbanized in like a straight line over flat ground. Couldn’t be the same country that built rail across the continent in 7 years, ~150 years ago.

German real wages saw the sharpest decline since WWII in the 2022 energy crisis & still haven’t recovered. The new energy shock will make things worse. But the German government is once more calling on people to tighten their belts. This is paving the way for the far right.

@SavonAnkka @kuringeru @thinkdefence Main Army I'd agree, some ATV, LR, etc. but these "Soldiers have parachuted ... " unless the British Army has recently introduced air-drop vehicles to drop alongside these soldiers then it's not motorised. Maybe I'm wrong but given budgets I doubt it. They're lucky to have ammo.

@kuringeru @AO156 @thinkdefence That is true, but 81s are nowadays motorised and they won't be sticking around for counterbattery/drone action. 120s are a bit different and with them pre-prepared positions with netting should be the way to go.

@Hunter_Eagleman @GavinNewsom Well, then former ICE members need to setup a 'free' illegal immigrant non-profit taxi service direct to the rich liberal areas of California. Maybe even buy houses via non-profit to provide housing in those rich white liberal gated communities.

WOW: 🚨CA Democrats under @GavinNewsom just introduced the “MELT ICE Act” AB 1627. It would PERMANENTLY ban anyone who worked for ICE during President Trump’s term from ever becoming a cop or a teacher in the state. This is political revenge dressed up as “protecting trust” at its best!

@thinkdefence FPV can't keep up with 20 rounds per minute fire missions though. A lot of the use cases of FPVs we see would be normally cases where 81/120mm mortars would be called to deliver four rounds on target type fire missions.
