A new chapter in Andhra Pradesh's botanical heritage !! Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Forests and Environment, Shri @PawanKalyan Garu, has named a newly discovered plant species from the Eastern Ghats as 'Croton ubbalamadugensis', after its natural habitat near the Ubbalamadugu Waterfalls in Tirupati district. Discovered through extensive botanical research led by PCCF Shri P V Chalapathi Rao garu and team, this rare species from the Euphorbiaceae family is distinguished by its unique morphology, reproductive characteristics, and fragrant leaves. With its highly restricted distribution and increasing habitat threats, the species has been identified as being at risk of extinction. అరుదైన వృక్ష జాతి మొక్కకు నామకరణం * “క్రోటన్ ఉబ్బలమడుగెన్సిస్” అని పేరు పెట్టిన ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు శ్రీ @PawanKalyan గారు * తూర్పు కనుమల్లోని ఉబ్బలమడుగు జలపాతం ప్రాంతంలో గుర్తించిన కొత్త వృక్ష జాతి తిరుపతి జిల్లా పరిధిలోని తూర్పు కనుమల్లో కొత్తగా గుర్తించిన అరుదైన వృక్ష జాతికి చెందిన మొక్కకు రాష్ట్ర ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు, అటవీ, పర్యావరణ శాఖ మంత్రి శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు నామకరణం చేశారు. యూఫోర్బియేసీ (Euphorbiaceae) కుటుంబానికి చెందిన ఈ కొత్త జాతికి “క్రోటన్ ఉబ్బలమడుగెన్సిస్” (Croton Ubbalamadugensis) అని పేరు పెట్టారు. ఉబ్బలమడుగు జలపాతానికి సమీపంలోని కంబకం కొండల ప్రాంతం ఈ మొక్కకు సహజ ఆవాసంగా ఉండటంతో, ఆ ప్రాంత పర్యావరణ ప్రాధాన్యాన్ని ప్రతిబింబించేలా ఈ పేరును ఖరారు చేశారు. అద్భుతమైన సుగంధ పరిమళాలను వెదజల్లే ఆకులు కలిగిన ఈ మొక్క ప్రత్యేకతలు శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారిని ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. ప్రధాన అటవీ సంరక్షణాధికారి (PCCF) శ్రీ పి.వి. చలపతిరావు గారు తన పరిశోధనా సహచరులతో కలిసి తూర్పు కనుమల్లో నిర్వహించిన విస్తృత వృక్షశాస్త్ర పరిశోధనల సందర్భంగా ఈ కొత్త జాతి మొక్కను గుర్తించారు. శాస్త్రీయ పరిశీలనల్లో, సమీప సంబంధిత జాతి అయిన క్రోటన్ అరోమాటికస్ (Croton aromaticus) తో పోలిస్తే ఈ మొక్క ప్రత్యేకమైన నిర్మాణం, పునరుత్పత్తి లక్షణాలను కలిగి ఉన్నట్లు నిర్ధారించారు. ఈ ఆవిష్కరణ తూర్పు కనుమల అపార జీవ వైవిధ్య సంపదను ప్రతిబింబించడమే కాకుండా, ఆ ప్రాంతంలో మరింత లోతైన శాస్త్రీయ పరిశోధనల ఆవశ్యకతను చాటింది. అత్యంత పరిమిత ప్రాంతంలో మాత్రమే కనిపించడం, సహజ ఆవాసాలపై పెరుగుతున్న ముప్పు క్రోటన్ ఉబ్బలమడుగెన్సిస్ జాతిని అంతరించిపోయే ప్రమాదంలో ఉన్న జాతిగా పరిశోధకులు గుర్తించారు. ఈ శాస్త్రీయ ఆవిష్కరణలు జీవ వైవిధ్యం, పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ, రాష్ట్ర సహజ వారసత్వ సంపద సంరక్షణ పట్ల కూటమి ప్రభుత్వ నిబద్ధతకు నిదర్శనంగా నిలుస్తోంది.

"ప్రాజెక్ట్ టైగర్" వంటి దూరదృష్టితో కూడిన కార్యక్రమాల ఫలితంగా నేడు ప్రపంచంలోని పులులలో దాదాపు 75 శాతం మన దేశంలో నివసిస్తున్నాయి. ఇది భారతదేశం సాధించిన అపూర్వ పర్యావరణ విజయానికి నిదర్శనం. దేశంలోనే అతి పెద్ద పులుల సంరక్షణ ప్రాంతమైన నాగార్జునసాగర్–శ్రీశైలం టైగర్ రిజర్వ్ (NSTR) ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో ఉండటం మనందరికీ గర్వకారణం. నల్లమల అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో 5,442.83 చదరపు కిలోమీటర్ల విస్తీర్ణంలో విస్తరించి ఉన్న ఈ రిజర్వ్- పులులతోపాటు చిరుతలు, ఎలుగుబంట్లు, అడవి కుక్కలు, శాకాహార జంతువులు మరియు వందలాది వన్యప్రాణులకు సురక్షిత ఆవాసంగా నిలుస్తోంది. తాజా అంచనాల ప్రకారం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని NSTR–శేషాచలం పరిధిలో 68 పులులు, 11 పులి పిల్లలు నమోదుకావడం సంతోషకర విషయం. ఇది రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం చేపడుతున్న సంరక్షణ చర్యలకు నిదర్శనం. కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం అధికారంలోకి వచ్చినప్పటి నుంచి పులుల సంరక్షణ కోసం అనేక శాస్త్రీయ కార్యక్రమాలను అమలు చేస్తున్నాం. వేట నిరోధక వ్యవస్థను మరింత బలోపేతం చేయడంతో పాటు గడ్డి మైదానాల అభివృద్ధి, వేట జంతువుల సంఖ్య పెంపు వంటి చర్యలను చేపట్టాం. డ్రోన్లు, కెమెరా ట్రాప్‌లు, ఆధునిక పర్యవేక్షణ వ్యవస్థల ద్వారా అటవీ ప్రాంతాల నిఘాను మరింత సమర్థంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నాం. అటవీ శాఖ సిబ్బంది సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంపొందించేందుకు శిక్షణ కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహిస్తూ, ప్రజల భాగస్వామ్యాన్ని కూడా ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్నాం. NSTR టైగర్ కన్జర్వేషన్ ఫౌండేషన్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహిస్తున్న 11 చెక్‌పోస్టులు నెలకు రూ. కోటికి పైగా ఆదాయం సమకూరుస్తూ దేశానికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలుస్తున్నాయి. ఇది సంరక్షణతోపాటు స్థానిక అభివృద్ధికి దోహదపడుతోంది. తూర్పు కనుమల ప్రాంతంలో పులుల జన్యు వైవిధ్యాన్ని, జనాభాను పెంపొందించేందుకు మహారాష్ట్రలోని చంద్రపూర్ అటవీ పరిధి నుంచి రెండు ఆడ పులులను, మధ్యప్రదేశ్ నుంచి మరో రెండు ఆడ పులులను తీసుకురావడానికి సూత్రప్రాయ అంగీకారం లభించడానికి సహకరించిన కేంద్ర పర్యావరణ, అటవీ మరియు వాతావరణ మార్పుల శాఖ మంత్రి శ్రీ @byadavbjp గారికి ఈ సందర్భంగా నా హృదయపూర్వక కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ పులుల సంరక్షణ చరిత్రలో ఇది ఒక చారిత్రాత్మక మైలురాయిగా నిలవనుంది. అలాగే నాగార్జునసాగర్–శ్రీశైలం టైగర్ రిజర్వ్‌లో వేట నిరోధక శిబిరాల సంఖ్యను 89 నుంచి 150కు పెంచుతున్నాము. దీనివల్ల భద్రత, నిఘా, సమాచార సేకరణ, అత్యవసర స్పందన సామర్థ్యాలు మరింత బలోపేతం అవుతాయి. అదే సమయంలో సుమారు 800 మంది గిరిజన యువతకు ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు లభించనున్నాయి. పర్యావరణ సమతుల్యతను పరిరక్షించడంలో కూటమి ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తి స్థాయి నిబద్ధతతో పనిచేస్తోంది. నల్లమల అడవుల్లో గౌర్ జంతువుల పునఃప్రవేశం, పాపికొండ అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో ఆడ పులుల ప్రవేశం, వన్యప్రాణి కారిడార్ల పరిరక్షణ వంటి కార్యక్రమాలను ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్తున్నాం. నల్లమల అడవుల్లో పులి గర్జన శాశ్వతంగా వినిపించే లక్ష్యంతో మనమందరం కృషి చేయాలని పిలుపునిస్తున్నాను. ఈ అంతర్జాతీయ పులుల దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలకు, అటవీ శాఖ అధికారులకు, సిబ్బందికి, వన్యప్రాణి సంరక్షకులకు, శాస్త్రవేత్తలకు, పర్యావరణ ప్రేమికులకు, అడవుల పరిరక్షణలో భాగస్వాములైన గిరిజన సమాజాలకు మరోసారి హృదయపూర్వక శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. క్లిష్ట పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ అడవులను, వన్యప్రాణులను కాపాడేందుకు అంకితభావంతో పనిచేస్తున్న ప్రతి అటవీ శాఖ అధికారికీ, సిబ్బందికి ప్రత్యేక అభినందనలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. - @PawanKalyan @moefcc @APFDOfficial @HANUMAN_APGOV @PIB_India @IPR_AP @pibvijayawada

Andhra Pradesh leads india in Mangrove Restoration by Securing 2nd place in India's MISHTI scheme !! Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Forests, Shri @PawanKalyan Garu, Andhra Pradesh continues to strengthen its commitment to coastal ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation through large-scale mangrove development as part of the Great Greenwall of Andhra Pradesh initiative. Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Forests and Environment, Shri @PawanKalyan Garu, has directed the Forest Department to fast-track the identification, notification and protection of wetlands across the State in line with the Hon'ble Supreme Court's directions. As a significant step, the Government has granted permission to initiate the process of declaring Kondakarla Ava in Anakapalli district as a Conservation Reserve under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, while ensuring that irrigation, reservoir management and other public interest activities remain unaffected. A comprehensive survey will be undertaken to strengthen biodiversity conservation and assess the area's eco-tourism potential, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities. Scientific studies and field assessments have identified 950 wetlands across Andhra Pradesh, with the notification process for the first 16 wetlands now in its final stage. Mangroves are the guardians of our coast, the lungs of our shoreline, and one of nature’s greatest gifts to humanity. Along Andhra Pradesh’s 1,053 km coastline, these extraordinary ecosystems serve as our first line of defence, protecting coastal lives and livelihoods from cyclones, storm surges, sea erosion, and the growing impacts of climate change. They nurture rich marine biodiversity, sustain our coastal communities, and capture vast reserves of blue carbon, making them indispensable to a resilient future. Protecting mangroves is not merely about conserving forests; it is about safeguarding lives, strengthening ecological security, securing livelihoods, and preserving the natural wealth that future generations deserve. Through the Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh, our commitment to mangrove conservation is reflected in action. Over the past two years, nearly 7,000 acres of mangroves have been restored and developed across the State. Building on this momentum, we have set a target to restore another 4,000 acres during 2026-27, reaffirming our resolve to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s natural shield against climate change and protect our coastal communities. వెయ్యి ఎకరాల్లో డ్రోన్ల సాయంతో సీడ్ బాల్స్ •మనుషులు అడుగుపెట్టలేని ప్రాంతాల్లో క్షీణించిన అడవుల పునరుద్ధరణ దిశగా అడుగులు •రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా 6,500 హెక్టార్ల విస్తీర్ణంలో మానవ వనరుల సాయంతో లక్షల విత్తన బంతులు వెదజల్లే పక్రియ పూర్తి •30 వేల హెక్టార్ల లక్ష్యాన్ని నిర్ణీత కాల వ్యవధితో పూర్తి చేయాలన్న శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు •సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లడంతోపాటు మొలకలకు రక్షణ కల్పించే బాధ్యత తీసుకోవాలి •సీడ్ బాల్స్ పంపిణీ, వెదజల్లే కార్యక్రమంపై అటవీశాఖ అధికారులతో సమీక్షించిన ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు శ్రీ @PawanKalyan గారు వర్షపాతం, నేలలో తేమ వంటి వాతావరణ పరిస్థితులను ఎప్పటికప్పుడు పరిశీలన చేసుకుంటూ రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా సీడ్ బాల్స్ పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమాన్ని వేగవంతం చేయాలని రాష్ట్ర ఉపముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యులు, అటవీ పర్యావరణ శాఖల మంత్రి శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు స్పష్టం చేశారు. అడవులు క్షీణించిన ప్రాంతాల్లో సీడ్ బాల్స్ జారవిడిచే కార్యక్రమాన్ని వేగవంతం చేసేందుకు మరిన్ని డ్రోన్ల సహాయం తీసుకోవాలన్నారు. రాష్ట్రంలో అటవీ పునరుద్ధరణ, 50 శాతం గ్రీన్ కవర్ లక్ష్యాల్లో సీడ్ బాల్స్ పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమం అత్యంత కీలక ప్రక్రియ అని తెలిపారు. జిల్లాల వారీగా సీడ్ బాల్స్ పంపిణీ, వెదజల్లే కార్యక్రమం, డ్రోన్ సాంకేతికత వినియోగంపై అటవీశాఖ ఉన్నతాధికారులతో శనివారం మధ్యాహ్నం సమీక్షించారు. రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఇప్పటి వరకు ఎన్ని ఎకరాల్లో సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లే ప్రక్రియ పూర్తయ్యింది? డ్రోన్ల సాయంతో ఎంత విస్తీర్ణంలో సీడ్ బాల్స్ జారవిడిచారు? తదుపరి లక్ష్యాలు తదితర అంశాలను ఈ సందర్భంగా అధికారులు శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారికి వివరించారు. ఉపముఖ్యమంత్రివర్యుల ఆదేశాల మేరకు రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా 3 కోట్లకు పైగా సీడ్ బాల్స్ సిద్ధం చేయగా, ఇప్పటి వరకు 63 లక్షలకు పైగా సీడ్ బాల్స్ దాదాపు 6,500 హెక్టార్ల విస్తీర్ణంలో వెదజల్లే ప్రక్రియ పూర్తి చేసినట్టు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. అందులో మానవ వనరుల సాయంతో సుమారు 6 వేల హెక్టార్ల పరిధిలో 59 లక్షల సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లినట్టు, మొట్టమొదటి సారి డ్రోన్ల సాయంతో అడవుల్లో లోయ ప్రాంతాలకి వెళ్లి సీడ్ బాల్స్ జారవిడిచినట్టు వివరించారు. సుమారు వెయ్యి ఎకరాల్లో డ్రోన్స్ ద్వారా సీడ్ బాల్స్ జార విడిచినట్లు తెలిపారు.అత్యధికంగా రాజమహేంద్రవరం సర్కిల్ పరిధిలో దాదాపు 28 లక్షల సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లగా, అందులో డ్రోన్ సాయంతో 2.26 లక్షలు జారవిడిచినట్టు అధికారులు చెప్పారు. విశాఖ అటవీ డివిజన్‌లో 7.50 లక్షలు, కర్నూలు అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో 8.67 లక్షల సీడ్ బాల్స్ పంపిణీ ప్రక్రియ పూర్తి చేసినట్టు వెల్లడించారు. ప్రస్తుతం వాతావరణ పరిస్థితుల ఆధారంగా చింతూరు, పీటీ ఆత్మకూరు, గిద్దలూరు, మార్కాపురం, వైఎస్ఆర్ కడప డివిజన్లలో డ్రోన్ల ద్వారా సీడ్ బాల్స్ జారవిడిచే కార్యక్రమాన్ని కొనసాగిస్తున్నట్టు, మానవ వనరులు చేరుకోవడం కష్టంగా ఉండే అటవీ ప్రాంతాలను డ్రోన్ ద్వారా చేరుకోవడం సులభం అవుతుందని చెప్పారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా శ్రీ పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు మాట్లాడుతూ “ఎల్ నినో వల్ల ఏర్పడిన వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితులు సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లే ప్రక్రియకు కొంత మేర ఇబ్బందులు కలిగించవచ్చు. వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్న ప్రాంతాల్లో మాత్రం జాప్యానికి తావు లేకుండా సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లే కార్యక్రమాన్ని కొనసాగించాలి. అవసరం అయితే డ్రోన్ల సంఖ్య పెంచే విధంగా చర్యలు తీసుకోండి. అటవీ ప్రాంతాల్లో పచ్చదనం తగ్గిన చోట కచ్చితంగా అడవి పునరుద్ధరణ మొదలవ్వాలి. మానవ వనరులతో సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లిన ప్రాంతాల్లో మొలకలు వస్తే, వాటిని సంరక్షించడం కోసం తగిన చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి. 50 శాతం గ్రీన్ కవర్ సాధించాలన్న కూటమి ప్రభుత్వ లక్ష్యాల్లో సీడ్ బాల్స్ వెదజల్లే కార్యక్రమం అత్యంత ప్రధానమైనది. ఈ కార్యక్రమ నిర్వహణలో ఎవరూ అలక్ష్యంగా ఉండవద్దు. సీడ్ బాల్స్ చల్లి సరిపుచ్చకుండా, వేడి తీవ్రత ఎక్కువగా ఉండే అవకాశం ఉన్న నేపథ్యంలో మొక్కల పరిరక్షణ బాధ్యతను కూడా స్వీకరించాల”న్నారు.
