I’m Andrew and I’m obsessed with golf. A few months ago I was prepping for a trip to Streamsong. Never played it. Knew it was going to be expensive so I wanted a game plan going into the trip. So…I fed Claude my carry yardages, miss tendencies, and wedge setup. Had it research each hole and build me a personalized game plan. Club selection. Target lines. Where to miss. How to play around the greens. It worked. The game plan held up. Did the same thing for a tournament at The Golf Club at Devils Tower. Few tricky holes I still wasn’t sure how to play. Same result. Then I thought — every serious golfer spending $300-3,000 on a destination round deserves the same thing. So I built it. @preroundgolf — a personalized hole-by-hole game plan for any course, built around YOUR game. Waitlist is open. Getting close to launch. Building in public preroundgolf.com

Big one incoming 🔥 My actual caddie from when I played Streamsong Blue is going to review my PreRound game plans. He still loops at both Streamsong and Victoria National — perfect guy to poke holes in the strategies PreRound built for my game on both courses. He’s going to give real expert feedback on: • Club selections and shot shapes • Miss strategies for those firm, fast conditions • Whether a seasoned caddie would actually recommend the same plays This should be super insightful. Nothing like getting honest feedback from someone who’s walked the course with me and knows these tracks cold. Stay tuned — I’ll share his full breakdown and thoughts soon. Who wants to see how PreRound stacks up against real caddie wisdom? 👇 preroundgolf.com #GolfStrategy #CourseManagement #Streamsong #VictoriaNational

It’s my mom’s birthday today. We were talking about some of our favorite stories from when I lived at home. I’ve been thinking a lot about my childhood recently, and talking to my mom about those memories has opened my Pandora’s box. Why am I the way that I am? Why have I always had such a hard time controlling my emotions? Growing up I never really had to think about that. The sports I played almost encouraged the opposite. Football, boxing, lacrosse, etc. Being emotional, intense, and angry was almost viewed as a positive thing. To the point where people would describe me as a hot head with a short fuse. But golf has given me a completely different perspective on myself. I’m starting to realize not being able to control how I felt probably held me back way more than I ever understood. I’d practice well. I’d feel confident. But the second something went wrong in a game, I’d spiral. Whether it was snapping the ball over the punter’s head in my first start at long snapper, or missing a wide open catch in the middle of the crease in lacrosse, one mistake would completely take me out of the moment. Instead of competing, I’d start fighting myself. And once that happened, I couldn’t perform anymore. I think golf forced me to confront that because there’s nowhere to hide. Every shot reflects your mental state back at you. You can’t scream your way into playing better golf. You can’t overpower frustration. The harder you fight your emotions, the worse it usually gets. I can’t go back and change who I was as a kid or how I handled those moments, but I can learn from it now. Not just in golf, but in life too. I think being present and emotionally stable is probably one of the most important skills a person can develop. I’m just now starting to understand that.

Dear 11 and 12 year olds and their parents: The full size field is a year or two away. Those 200-250’ “dingers” you’re hitting now will be fly ball outs soon. I know we love those USSSA bats but you’re also a few years away from using BBCOR bats which will take away your “pop” overnight. The big field is a game changer. Some will make the transition seem easy but for many it has a way of humbling those kids who dominated the small field. Keep working hard. Be careful of thinking the game is easy. Each year from here on out will push you to get better. Will reveal your toughness. Will challenge you everyday. BTW, that 90’ sprint to first base will make you feel slow!! 🤣🤣 do your sprints!!

When I first built @preroundgolf , it was just me prompting Claude with my carry yardages and asking it to research holes. No app. No profile. No credits. Just a Google doc with a game plan for Streamsong. It worked well enough that I kept going. Here’s where we are today: ✅ Full web app live at preroundgolf.com ✅ Enter your bag once — yardages, wedge setup, shot shape, weaknesses ✅ Upload any scorecard, get a hole-by-hole game plan built around YOUR game ✅ Tee shot, approach, short game strategy per hole ✅ Stripe payments integrated ✅ Private beta with real users generating real books This week I have an actual caddie reviewing the books for the two courses he knows like the back of his hand. He loops at two top-100— Streamsong and Victoria National. His input is going directly into how PreRound reasons about course strategy. Local knowledge + AI = better than either alone. Still to do before public launch: ☐ Fix credit deduction bug ☐ Fix regenerate flow ☐ PDF export ☐ PWA support ☐ Stripe live mode ☐ Remove invite-only mode Started with a Google doc. Almost at a real product. preroundgolf.com

At 100 years old, WWII veteran Bernie Smoot still drives his convertible Ford Mustang to play golf five days a week, shoots in the low 80s and shares wisdom from 74 years in the game: “You live to play golf. But to reach my age, you play golf to live.” To celebrate Bernie — who landed at Omaha Beach just months after graduating high school — his PGA Coach and friend Jeff Maynor organized a tournament in his honor at the University of Maryland Golf Course, where Bernie plays five days a week. Maynor, the course’s PGA Director of Golf, has run a @PGAHOPE program there for Veterans since 2019, which Bernie loves to support. The tournament for Bernie was a chance for those Veterans to thank him and celebrate his love for the game.

Prediction: The launch monitor as a product is dead in 10 years. You won’t buy one. You’ll already have one. • Phone • Watch • Range • Club • Ball (eventually) Cameras + AI replace the box. $5K–$25K units become the DSLR of golf. AI will replace raw data with answers. Right now: “Ball speed: 152. Spin: 2800. Launch: 13°” Future: “You’re losing 11 yards because your face is 2° open relative to the path. Here is how you fix it.” Agree or not?

If you believe golf ball really affects your score, you should play with Brock. He just shot 65 with a beat up MaxFli that had 3 rounds on it. Big golf ball wants you to believe you need to spend $5 a ball and replace when it’s slightly dinged. Do you really believe that?
