@ContractorNews_ 11 suicides now from the #LoanChargeScandal and review still leaves the victims doing all the heavy lifting. HMRC agree to waive their extortionate interest but take no other hit for decades of inaction and incompetence. Promoters walk away untouched. The review failed everyone.

We will be seeking clarity on detail & process of the #McCannReview settlement deal proposed by former HMRC Asst Director Ray McCann. However it’s wrong & unfair that these terms will not apply to those who have settled & those with pre 2010 & post #LoanCharge cases. They must.

A possible 11th #LoanChargeSuicide. This is just utterly horrific. Campaigners and MPs have warned for years that the #loancharge poses a suicide risk and should be suspended. My thoughts are with everyone affected. One of biggest scandals of modern times.

We’ve warned about the known suicide risk since 2018 & written to HMRC & the Treasury many times. Yet trying to force victims of mis-selling to pay demands for tax not legally proven to be due that HMRC knew they couldn’t afford has for years been more important than compassion.
