OMG! Brown University study reveals that the cost of the never-ending War on Terror FY2001-FY2019 is $5.9 trillion! America is less safe as a result. The Mideast is more destabilized. And the neocons who sold the war are still treated as real experts... nationalinterest.org/blog/skeptics/…

There were 217+ ideologically motivated homicide incidents committed by far-right extremists in the US from 1990 to 2018 according to the Extremist Crime Database. Most were committed by white supremacists against social minorities go.umd.edu/UQL

It's worth noting that the UK's record on #pressfreedom is already subpar - 40th/180 countries on @RSF_inter's World Press Freedom Index (rsf.org/en/ranking/2018). We should be seeking to improve this climate, not contributing to further deterioration by media-bashing.

Again, worrying comments from @jeremycorbyn that evidence a deeply flawed understanding of #pressfreedom. It is precisely this sort of hostility & heavy-handed approach that serve to erode the free expression climate & on the extreme end, can result in cases like Turkey & Myanmar
