@jenteach13 If you're saying pay teachers more as part of a broad overhaul to incentivize talent and aggressively fire bad teachers, then maybe. But without taking the politics out, even this won't work.

What have universal school vouchers done for Arizona? They’ve setback students’ education, wasted taxpayer money, and taken resources from public schools. I’m fighting to protect public education, because Republicans’ national school voucher program will only make this worse.

@matthewnielsen They're banking on the fact that public school has not prepared voters to go look at the data with even a surface level understanding of data analysis.

@priya4az The fraud rate in the "study" of 63 non-random samples (lol) was...0.9%. The entire democrat party is built on a lack of reading comprehension. I guess that does explain why you love public school so much.

Great - then let's see it reflected in this year's state budget, where Dems have long fought to include voucher reforms but Rs keep saying it's off the table. If not, then they're just pretending to care about fraud and waste of taxpayer dollars.
Wayne Schutsky@WayneSchutsky

Following a scathing report by state auditors, Democratic lawmakers are calling for a full audit of Arizona's school voucher program and GOP House Speaker Steve Montenegro says the Auditor General's concerns "should be addressed." kjzz.org/politics/2026-…

@CaptMarkKelly Your public schools have failed, and you want to make sure as many people as possible are forced into them. Because you know that everyone who escapes, is not voting for you.

@ComicalRepub Here is where this argument falls short, the people who are screaming bloody murder about all of this reporting are the same ones that want zero documentation. That want auto approvals. That don’t even want the handbook to lists unapproved items.

Paid voucher lobbyist’s hot take: an audit flagging ESA spending with zero documentation isn’t actually a problem. Looking forward to him trying that line on the IRS when they audit his “nonprofit.”
Scot Mussi@ScotMussi

For @CraigHarrisNews to say that the auditor general determined that 34% of ESA monies were misspent based on a table that analyzed a total of 63 transactions is absurd. Plus, the largest identified issue on the chart was "missing documentation," which doesn't prove that money was misspent. And the footnote at the bottom explicitly stated that these figures should not be used to project for the entire program population. Either he is knowingly lying or he is too dumb to read a table.

@CraigHarrisNews "Christ Follower" who lies to the public calling things like missing documentation "misspending." Craig, when you miss or upload the wrong documents, they just reach out and ask you to correct it. It's not fraud. You do know you will stand in front of God one day right?

Here’s the receipt….it shows a 34 percent problem with missing documents, misuse, missing accreditation, overpayment and unallowable expenses. Again, this is a small sample, but shows high misuse of funds from the sample.

A new Arizona Auditor General report finds the the percentage of misspending in the state's Empowerment Scholarship program was a stunning 34 percent, based on a sample of transactions from July 23-October 25. The report also is highly critical of @RealTomHorne management....

@CraigHarrisNews I can't even believe we're at the point where the liars post the proof of their lying and act like it's a win. First of all, no serious conclusions can be drawn from a small, non-random sample. Second, 0.9% unallowable purchase rate is fantastic for a program this size.

@CyclicallyC @Garrett_Archer Who's saying they lied? The chart shows a 0.9% rate of unallowable purchases, that's actually incredible for a program that size. Of course, 63 transactions means you can't actually infer anything from that chart, I don't even think the sample was random.

@RepODLS You will one day answer for your lies. Democrats are so convinced their followers can't or won't read, they put the information that disproves their point right in front of their faces and know it will still work. 4% of those are over payments. Fraud is 0.9% lol

The Auditor General has released a brutal new report on the out-of-control $1 billion ESA Voucher program. This week, House Democrats are sharing a video series highlighting the waste, fraud, and abuse, which is actually higher than previously reported. Former public school teacher and Assistant Leader Nancy Gutierrez kicks off the series.

@CraigHarrisNews @azedschools @RealTomHorne Or how about we stick with education? How much looking would we have to do to find 10 million dollars of fraud in our public schools? And when we find it, let's be consistent and gut the entire system.

@CraigHarrisNews @azedschools @RealTomHorne Tell you what, why don't we start with food stamps from your original post. How much fraud is happening there? I notice you're quick to point out ESA, but not so quick with your completely unrelated choice for comparison.
