The West African monsoon has become more erratic. It has intensified in Sierra Leone, bringing vast amounts of rainfall, submerging major areas of Freetown and causing devastating mudslides and flash floodings. Rural regions are also affected, with bridges and roads cut off, isolating communities. This results from climate change, disproportionately impacting coastal nations like Sierra Leone.
