आज मुंबई महानगरपालिकेतल्या शिक्षण समितीमधील शिवसेना उद्धव बाळासाहेब ठाकरे पक्षाच्या सदस्यांसोबत चर्चा केली. अनेक गोष्टीत ज्या आम्ही सुरु केल्या होत्या, ते हे सरकार बंद करत आहे. शाळा आणि शिक्षण हा आपल्या समाजाचा पाया आहे आणि हा पाया अधिक भक्कम करण्यासाठी सातत्याने प्रयत्न झाले पाहिजेत.

आज मुख्यमंत्री मा. श्री. देवेंद्र फडणवीस ह्यांना सेस व नॉन सेस इमारतींच्या पुनर्विकास आणि भाडेकरूंच्या समस्यांबाबत पत्र देऊन, ह्या इमारतींच्या दुरुस्ती व डागडुजीसाठी मुख्यमंत्री विशेष अधिकारातून येत्या पावसाळ्यापूर्वी तातडीने निधी उपलब्ध करण्याविषयी, आठवण करून दिली.

Even though all of us, as political parties have voiced our disgust, anger, protest, along with the people, against the rape in Nasrapur, the incident is something that will haunt humanity as a blot always. The accused, even though caught, is apparently a repeat offender! Law? Justice? Fear of law? What was the “system” waiting for? Another incident? Another crime? Even though the government has promised swift action, only words can’t do. This action has to be in public eyes, it has to be hard and harsh and has to instil absolute fear of law for anyone else even thinking of committing such a crime. I still fall short of expressing myself, and have been without words to even begin to describe how angry this makes us all.

This meeting back in 2020, the decision to have an CICSE school in BMC’s Mumbai Public Schools. And today’s result of 100% pass percentage in ICSE exams of students with: 6 students - 90% and above 4 students- 85% and above 5 students- 80% and above As a strong believer that education is the only way to build our society, we had started off with 1 CISCE school, some CBSE schools and had proposed an IB and an IGCSE school (latter 2 were cancelled by the incumbent regime). The goal was to make the best education, available to BMC schools, for free. A choice of boards and career options to Mumbaikars. Thank you @Francis_Joseph, Gerry Arathoon, @DurgeSainath for your contribution to this, along with our then Mayor @KishoriPednekar ji, officials and the members of the then BMC education committee and the informal education advisory committee for your support. Truly delighted to see the results. I hope now the BMC will follow through with the systems we set up.
