Apologies for the screen shot...this is my assessment of our current squad. I've done a subjective ranking of all the players: Green is PL level, yellow, promotion quality, orange Champ. reliable, red not Champ level. Discussion very welcome @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed

@BillMeacock @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed I am sure you're right. I just don't know of the 23 players I think they keep who else they move on to free up spaces, I less we get U21s. Especially as many might go on loan, which are typically late in the window deals. I worry about having a Chelsea bomb-squad type situation.

@wrextothemox Someone else has pointed out if we get them on loan they could t towards the 25 man squad regardless of age. Only permanent signings under 21 years of age at the start of the season count

@AWGR_bw Except we don’t necessarily need them to be competing for starting spots, we just need bodies as insurance policies. In an injury crisis other clubs can dip into their academy products, but we don’t have that luxury yet.

And as a follow on to my last post, this is what is would do this summer. I have focused on trying not to go over the 25 player squad size. Would like to see us focus on quality not quantity this window. Could look at top U21 talents on loan if wanted to add further bodies

@AWGR_bw Does Wrexham have a "B" team? Seems like Wrexham is at level that group of 19-20 year old B players could contribute a few key spots throughout the season. For instance at Left Outside Back, Right Outside Back, and Defensive Mid this season, there were game day spots available.

@DavidPhillips53 @NathSalt1 @RichFay @RobRyanRed Before doing this I would have had Max in my first pick back 3. Surprised how low the clean sheet ratio for Doyle-Hyam-Max was. So many other factors to consider (who's playing in midfield, opposition for games when only a few in sample) and no consideration to in possession.

Inspired by @NathSalt1 and @RichFay on recent episodes of @RobRyanRed I've looked at which back 3 combinations we've used this season. Overall, think it shows Dom Hyam makes us better and, though a relatively small sample size the 3 that have ended the season come out on top

@wrextothemox Always a gamble how well a young player will adapt but get it right and could be pivotal. Parky never seemed super keen, but if you could get Doyle level lads in I'd be all for it.

@AWGR_bw Some U21-eligible talents have got to be a priority. Other clubs enjoy academy-produced depth that we just don’t have yet, so unfortunately we’ve got to buy some, and extend our usable squad by a few extra players.

@wrextothemox @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed Thomason could well move to CM as could Vymer. I primarily see him as our back up LWB atm though Ideally I would like Cacace to play 30 plus league games next year with George coming in to allow his minutes to be managed

@AWGR_bw @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed This is a very solid analysis. To clarify, is the color-coding based on 25/26 performance, 26/27 projection, or all-time projection? ie, Arthur wasn’t Prem ready this past season, wouldn’t be at Prem standard next season, or won’t ever be at Prem standard?

@R0bOwens @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed That makes sense....more sense than some of the contracts we've extended over the years. Personally would reward Hyam for how well he's done and protect Brunt as an asset

@AWGR_bw @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed For me the only two contract that next season that need extending ASAP are Arthurs and Harry Ashfields. The rest like brunt and hyam should be waited until we have a better idea of what league we're going to be in after next season.

@MattSpangle Generally the club go bigger than I think so wouldn't be surprised! Deliberately not gone over the 25 man squad and I think there's already A LOT to move on I think we have 4-7 players who could play in a top 2 side now. My plan is add 2 now and 3-4 summer 27.

@AWGR_bw I think it will be way more drastic. I think we sign LWB, RWB, 1 CF, 1 GK, CM, and CB. All approaching or breaking our transfer record. I think they’ll push for promotion next year and you’ll need a strong squad. I think Arthur is gone.

@andyj198383 Agree re Burton and there may be others who want to move for regular game time but I think the club will be happy for him to stay. James' contract is up and good time for him to find a club to play regularly. Galbraith is a good player, but who do you not select to add him?

@AWGR_bw Can’t see Callum Burton staying to be 3rd choice. Would loan Aaron James out, rather than release. Would like to see Galbraith join from Swansea. Agree with rest 👍

@AWGR_bw @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed Ye maybe. We all thought he was championship quality in the NL days, but few of us knew what that was back then. Just look at how highly we all rated JD. Now we're actually in the championship, we've been shown they were just two of the best lower league footballer, and that's ok

@Treu_red @fearlessidzine @RobRyanRed I think at his very best he could be, but this season and last I think we won't see that from him. Think it's a bit of head ruling heart too and wanted to rank him a bit higher than some others

@stevejohnson468 @RobRyanRed @NathSalt1 @RichFay Well I know a lot of people think "Brunt is good, but Doyle is better", but I think Brunt at his best is very comparable to Max and could play on the right or left. As long as he wants to, I would want Brunt to stay for next season for sure
