This isn’t a small deal. Restaurant Depot is where most mom & pop restaurants go to buy inventory because Sysco is so expensive.
Restaurant Depot was privately owned. Sysco is owned by… you guessed it, BlackRock & Vanguard.
Now private equity can control pricing for food costs with zero competition. Just like they did with housing.
This should be an anti-trust violation, but we have politicians that work for Big Corp, not us.

In Augusta County, the average cow days per acre is 80. That means one acre of grass will support 80 cows for a day.
@JoelSalatin gets 400 cow days per acre and hasn't planted a seed or used an herbicide in 60 years.
He does it by mimicking the way ruminants are supposed to behave:
Mobbing, moving and mowing.
This keeps the grass in a rapid growth cycle.
This is what the grass wants.
This is what the cows want.
This is what nature wants.
This is what God intended.

What most people do not realize is that most of the fertilizer is already on for this year.
Another huge amount of fertilizer is already here on barges and other storage for next fall!!
They are prematurely GOUGING farmers with high prices!!
That is what needs addressing!!

I penciled it out for our place, yield gained by fertilizer does not cover the cost of the fertilizer, let alone the cost of application. We will not fertilize this year. Small farms are taking the hit, corporate Ag could give a shit
