How are people still tricked by this god stuff in 2026? I get it in 1026 when your entire world was a square mile in size. We see 13 billion light years in to the universe now and have science and technology. I don’t get it.

Many comments for this callout Sabathia had the much better peak and hit 3000 strikeouts, both true and important. That is why he went in the HOF on the first ballot.
But some of Buehrle’s unique features are being missed.
Buehrle threw both a perfect game and a no-hitter. Sabathia never did either.
Buehrle picked off 100 base runners. 100! Sabathia picked off 21.
Only 59 bases were ever stolen on Buehrle. 201 bases were stolen on CC.
Buehrle recorded a quality start 62% of the time. Sabathia did so 57% of the time.
Buehrle forced 46 more DPs.
All of these little and not so little things did add up to a rather interesting and great career.
I do think CC was better, but acting like they aren’t even close is inaccurate.

Both left-handed pitchers during the same era. CC Sabathia was a 1st ballot HOFer. Mark Buehrle received 20% of the vote on the 2026 HOF ballot in his 6th year of eligibility. Sabathia had the better career, but not by much. Does Buehrle deserve a plaque in Cooperstown?

@Cory_Tucek @stevemarasco @HowMuchUDeadlif Really? Even if the "more talented" player was only available, say, 10 games a season? What is your breaking point, 65% of the season? 50%? How about if the less talented player played 80 games, and the more talented player played 1, still want the more talented player?

If you run the numbers for Gretzky's first 17 seasons, he averaged 1.76 adjusted PPG (to Mario's 1.68)
If you take a look at the 14 highest adjusted point seasons, Gretzky's name appears 7 times (to Lemieux's 2)
