If Essendon even considers James Hird to be their coach again after all this time, it would underscore what a backward dysfunctional organisation it is and its sheer inability to let go of the past.
Hird hasn’t coached for 11 years and he didn’t even demonstrate that he had what it took to become a super coach in his time in the job!
The Bombers need to stop the obsession with past greats or they will continue to go nowhere. The club has to embrace the future and bring in the best guy for the job who has recently been involved at club land for a lengthy period of time
Ed Cowan on Finch: "Basically - set up to fail. An accomplished middle order player who opens batting in one day cricket and all of a sudden pops up at the top of the order. It's a crazy selection. Do we ever hear from Trevor Hohns saying I got that wrong? No."
#AUSvIND
@Jasperc53 He never should of been a norm
He has never performed in home and away games
He has the best midfield around him and he still struggles
The most overrated player in the comp
The fact people say he is even close to daicos is fucking retarded
If an election was being held today, we would have had 6 weeks of an election campaign, a year or more of the govt working to build its support and the opinion polls we are now seeing would be totally irrelevant
The irony of One Nation supporters existing to rail against the establishment and status quo, yet their backer is an elitist billionaire. Yet, It is Labor who delivers intergenerational game changer budget for young people, workers, and families.
Someone asked me a week ago should Carlton consider Josh Fraser. I said no…..they should appoint him. In astonishment they said why? I replied, the moment I heard him say he won’t be applying because he’s not ready yet to be an AFL coach tells me he’s miles in front of the field of next gen coaches. I’d tell him whilst you’re not quite ready your honesty and integrity tells me you are because those qualities are omnipotent.
@FKhnopff@raywilton4 So more land tax, more stamp duty, more payroll tax, more CGT
Let’s get the trust, the house, the super, the inheritance.
Let’s get it all!
@raywilton4 The changes don't go far enough.
'Marginal changes' to CGT/NG & Australian media goes nuclear. Drives misinformation & lies.
Sends a warning to Labor.
The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
And incredibly the angry and resentful 'battlers' buy it.
the former Labor prime minister said wealthy individuals had been the beneficiaries of preferential treatment for investments for decades – rules he said had distorted the tax system and disadvantaged wage earners. theguardian.com/australia-news…
Rubbish.
If you’re a tradie running his own business for 10 years and decide to sell, the Capital gains on the sale will be lumped on top of your existing base wage for that year pushing you straight into the 47% category. That’s years worth of hard fought gains lumped into a single tax year.
Even a modest gain on an investment property sale will do the same thing. Same with hard fought years of gains if investing in stocks.
The government has made it clear, that they want 47% of your gains. And to rub salt into younger Australians wounds, it specifically applied to all new businesses, property and stock investments.
You'll never pay 47% tax on nominal capital gains.
Top marginal rates pay effective rate of
27.3% on 5yr hold
30.1% on 10yr hold
One of the lowest rates in the world.
Other countries tax the whole gain, Australia doesnt.
Facts matter over your ideological game.
@PilotPoli@GreenTyler27 we did, fairer tax system. We still pay lower CGT tax than many OECD nations.
Workers, yours and my labour, were over subsidizing concessions.
Zach Merrett has been a wonderful player over 12 years. He should always be remembered in high regards on what he has contributed on field to EFC. It is time however to look at trade options for him. Should be a clear win/win for both parties.
@AaronCiniBall@ScooterMcNeice If hawthorn had not waited till the last hour making it impossible to have their players do a physical then maybe a deal got done. The entire thing was distasteful and I’m glad he got made to stay
@DarkMagicianG_@ScooterMcNeice last year's offer was not that valuable when you actually step back and look at it.
Now if Hawthorn shows interest again and just one club (Gold Coast?) shows interest, they can get better value.
@pacman1072@ffpunting@Quinny_1 Yeah and I’m pointing out that you’re embarrassing yourself you retard, imagine getting this emotional over others embarrassing themselves 🤣 you’re a gimp dog
Extraordinary scenes at Morphettville
A huge group of owners of Extragalactic wildly celebrating winning the Goodwood before the heartbreak when the result flashed up on screen.
@TheKouk A consistent and depressing story in Melbourne.
We suffer all the negative externalities of high immigration (congested roads, hospitals and schools)…with none of the wealth upside.
Most are now poorer thanks to the Victorian Labor government
Nearly half way through May and house prices continue to weaken:
Month to date / year to date price changes:
SYD -0.2% -0.9%
MEL -0.3% -2.0%
BRI +0.5% +6.6%
ADE +0.4% +5.1%
PER. +0.9% +10.3%
5 cities: +0.1% +1.9%
@AaronCiniBall@sshobbs8@HumanHeadline@nathantemp7 If he has physically assaulted a woman then yes but what is the charge do you know ? I don’t it’s in the courts hands now You can’t just throw out accusations without full knowledge so until the charges have been stated in the magistrate court he can stay on. And same question 2u
A bit rich for union boss John Setka to be appealing for respect of his privacy when he publicly threatened inspectors that he knew where they lived, would publish their home addresses and would haunt them at their kids’ footie on Saturdays.
