@9NewsMelb @heidimur $200BN in debt yes? How on earth is this going to be paid off? Annual interest bill of $8BN yes? This is what happens when you put people who have never run a P&L into public office. Humiliating for Victoria

Victoria's Treasurer has forcefully rejected claims the state's first surplus in seven years was only possible through a lotto licence deal. @heidimur #9News

@Simon_9000_ @JEChalmers Refining is extremely expensive. Even if Australia refined more fuel locally, crude oil is still priced globally (e.g. Brent crude). Refined products would still track international prices. So you don’t escape global pricing - you just change where refining happens.

Labor's fuel package in the Budget will be all about more fuel for Australian motorists and industry, and more fuel security for Australia's economy.

@MFWitches @RBAInfo @AlboMP The real problem is government spending and super high immigration. Those two elements are driving inflation. And mortgage holders are getting smashed in the process.

How the fuck do we live in a place where the media reports the @RBAInfo has asked @AlboMP to NOT reduce taxes for ordinary Aussies (as this will spike inflation) but there’s NO media reporting on how raising taxes for corporates and high earners would also reduce inflation spikes? #NewsCorpse

@TheKouk Smashing mortgage holders, who are already struggling, while cashed up baby boomers continue to splurge. And the government increases spending and immigration, yes? Got it. What a country.

Bye bye full employment! The RBA hikes rates to stymie growth & to get inflation back to target. The RBA reckons that the oil effect on inflation can be offset by pole axing the non-oil parts of the economy such that inflation eases to 2.5%. With the oil price set in global markets, interest rates seem an odd tool to use to overcome inflation in Australia without too much damage to the business sector & the labour market. youtube.com/watch?v=RLhpbp…

As stretched Australian mortgage-holders brace for yet another rate rise today, the big banks are seeing dollar signs. While you’re being smashed for an inflation problem you didn’t cause - the banks win. Labor could make the 1% pay their fair share, but they won’t.

Anika Wells The $100,000 New York Joyride: Nearly $95,000 in flights alone for a three-day trip to the UN. While you’re saving for a tank of fuel, she’s racking up bills equivalent to a house deposit just to spend 72 hours in Manhattan. The Family Holiday Special: She’s used "family reunion" loopholes to charge taxpayers $9,000 for AFL Grand Final trips and $3,000 for a family ski trip to Thredbo. If you want to take your kids to the snow, you save up; if Anika Wells wants to go, she sends the bill to you. Taxpayer-Funded Chauffeurs: Imagine having a chauffeur wait outside a tennis match for seven hours on the public dime. That’s exactly what she did at the Australian Open, running up a $1,000 Comcar bill while the driver sat idle. The Paris Feast: During the Olympics, she wasn't just cheering from the sidelines; she was running up $1,750 dinner bills and claiming daily meal expenses of $1,200. It’s luxury living funded by people who can barely afford a pub meal.

Work hard but don’t feel like you’re getting ahead? @AlboMP & @JEChalmers’ active inflation agenda has made it the highest taxing government in Australian history - their economic model is fuel inflation, tax the inflation, then use it to fuel inflation further.
