Très heureuse de faire "la une" de la revue @Grand_Continent aujourd'hui avec cette cartographie de l'espace stratégique chinois. L'occasion de retrouver les cartes créées par @CIGeography pour mon étude pour le NBR publiée fin 2024.

12/ On net, the report is a great contribution to our knowledge and policy debates on China.
Kudos to the legions of staff and many friends that worked on this — including my @AEI colleagues, Commissioners @HalBrands & @AaronFriedberg.

Full context on how Beijing is trolling us:
- Trump team gave away one of the most important inference chips to Beijing after Nvidia lobbied, easing Beijing’s path to AI dominance.
- Trump team knows this is embarrassing, so they pretended it was part of trade talks to make it seem like less of a cave.
- Then Beijing called them out and said it was in fact a unilateral concession from Trump. Not at all part of the talks!
➡️ Beijing is trolling us even as we give them an unexpected and consequential victory.
Rush Doshi@RushDoshi
Beijing embarrasses the Trump team ➡️ Trump Admin: We gave up the H20 as part of trade talks. It’s not a unilateral concession for nothing. ➡️ Beijing (effectively): The H20 was not part of the trade talks. Thank you for your proactive unilateral concession.

China Shock 2.0 is hitting developing and developed nations alike. A valuable and important piece of work from @Jacob_T_Gunter and @claus_soong @merics_eu
Jacob Gunter@Jacob_T_Gunter
My latest at @merics_eu with the brilliant @claus_soong . As part of broader work on China's overcapacity and surging exports, we looked at how the "G50" are/aren't imposing trade defense measures on China-made goods, as well as Beijing's response. Key findings in 🧵 1/13

America’s longstanding support for Israel has always been based on Israel’s unique status as a flourishing Middle East democracy. Does that sound like the kind of thing Trump cares deeply about? @AaronFriedberg and @gabeschoenfeld on Trump and Israel:

To protect themselves against China’s predatory practices, countries with market-based economies must band together in a trade defense coalition, argues @AaronFriedberg.
