Binding arbitration is one of the most fiscally irresponsible policies a state can adopt. Missouri legislators, don't let union bosses hand taxpayers the bill.
Freedom Foundation@FreedomFdtn

We urge @NickBSchroer, @AlexRileyMO, @TonyLuetkemeyer and @jmmurphy8 to block binding arbitration for government unions. When both sides are bargaining with taxpayer dollars, neither has any incentive to be fiscally responsible. The result: higher taxes and broken trust in local communities.

California's "Billionaire Tax" is a classic union bait-and-switch. Backed by SEIU, this 5% wealth tax on billionaires hides a poison pill: the legislature can expand it to anyone with assets—without a vote—while gutting the pensions of the very nurses and teachers SEIU claims to protect. Thank you @EDSecMcMahon for fighting alongside us against the unions who are hurting the teachers and students they purport to represent. Your leadership was instrumental in advancing legislation that ensures real accountability for unions in Florida.
Secretary Linda McMahon@EDSecMcMahon

Teachers unions are advocating to keep children out of schools for protests, using dues to prop up political agendas, and negotiating protections for child abusers. The unions are not fighting for students or teachers – they are fighting to protect their own power.

The Wall Street Journal is covering the state-level push to rein in government unions, and the Freedom Foundation is right in the middle of it. Idaho just ended automatic paycheck deductions for union dues. Florida passed a law requiring unions to actually earn majority support to stay certified — after our research showed taxpayers were footing millions for union political advocacy. Gov. @RonDeSantis signed it Friday.

The fiscal health of states can be measured in part by the extent that public unions control state capitals. These state reforms can prevent more states from going the way of Albany, Trenton, Springfield, Sacramento or Olympia. on.wsj.com/42Q4lvq

Florida’s lawmakers have settled an issue that should never have been controversial: If a union claims the right to speak for every worker in a bargaining unit, it should be supported by a majority of its members, writes @AaronWithe on.wsj.com/3P4n8jw

Florida students deserve high-quality education, and great teachers deserve recognition and competitive pay. But time and again partisan school unions have shown that they do not act in the best interests of the teachers they purport to represent, let alone the best interests of students. Today, I was proud to sign legislation to hold unions accountable and to reward the educators who go above and beyond to inspire students across Florida.

Thanks to our historic investments and common-sense policies, Florida has ranked #1 in the nation for education two out of the last three years. Today in Fort Myers, I signed landmark legislation to build on this success and ensure our state continues to lead the way in education.   ✔️ Senate Bill 1296 is a landmark reform that provides for the de-certification of partisan school unions. This bill also fast-tracks salary increases, which some unions have stalled. ✔️ HB 1279 allows districts to provide immediate pay incentives to high-performing teachers who choose to teach in lower performing schools without being burdened by collective bargaining.   Win the future!

I’m proud to say that Florida just passed the most groundbreaking union reform bill in American history. SB 1296 shatters the old union monopoly model, giving workers REAL freedom from forced dues and coercive union tactics. A huge thank you to every friend and Floridian who fought for this victory, and especially to Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for their bold leadership. Now it’s time for every state in America to follow Florida’s lead!

Florida just put workers back in charge. With SB 1296 signed by @GovRonDeSantis , unions have to prove real majority support—no shortcuts, no games. And taxpayers aren’t footing the bill for union politics anymore. This is a clear win for accountability, transparency, and the people doing the work.
