Showdowns always throw out results like this regardless of where each team is on the ladder. It’s always a 50/50 call. I think we’re very quickly reaching the point where somethings gotta change. Nicks has done an amazing job rebuilding this team and its culture. But we’re at a point now where decisions have to made in regards to our premiership chances. If the clubs believes we’re at the start of our premiership window or already in it, then go get the coach that’s good enough to take us the extra 2 or 3 steps needed to win it all. If not, they risk no meaningful progression and our list ages out of the window we’ve worked very hard to create and we eventually start over again with 0 to show for it.

Cost $200million and never once appeared in the top 10 tv shows being watched when it was airing. The show just was not that good. The numbers prove it. That’s a very valid point. I can agree with that. They have a plethora of IP that that Bluepoint could’ve done remakes with. Biggest probably being Bloodborne that everyone wanted. It’s what they were the best at when Sony bought them. I thought for sure they would’ve been helping Santa Monica with the GoW Greek remakes too. Especially after they helped quite a bit with Ragnaroks development.

OR, maybe people just didn’t like a poorly written story. It also cost $250 million to make. That’s disgustingly big for a 6 episode show. It also never once made the NIELSEN top 10 most watched streaming shows watched weekly (against all the other streaming platforms and their shows). The general audience clearly just did not care for this show compared to the actual good shows that were airing at the same time. So very low audience numbers combined with a $250million production budget that saw no return, left Disney no choice but to cancel it.

If they’re going to do this, I can very much see them releasing it in 2027 when the God of War Tv series airs to capitalise on the new audience. Which would mean they’d most likely do flashbacks to the Greek story in the Tv show. New people would then get interested in that story via the flashbacks, and want to see Kratos’s beginning. Then PlayStation announces a trilogy remaster/remake is coming out as season 1 ends and promotes it like crazy, making the new fans of this tv show go out and by a PS5 and the remake/remaster to go back and play the Greek games. It’s the same as what Naughty Dog did with The Last of Us when season 1 was finishing airing. Lots of new fans of the show ended up buying PlayStations and the games. Would make perfect sense for PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio to do the same for God of War.
