At @HMS_Raleigh , we’re building a partial replica of a merchant ship for sailors and Royal Marines to practice boarding vessels, a skill used regularly to intercept drug traffickers at sea. The facility will be completed next year.

@Gabriel64869839 @TBrit90 Do any engineers know why UK warship hulls dont survive, whereas ships we built and sold on continued? Type 21s, 2s, 23s? Why do type 23 hulls made of steel last short lives, whereas the QE carriers hulls are expected to last 50 years? Is the steel treated differently?

If we are to take seriously the assessment that they are just "too broken" to carry on, then we must conclude that the LIFEX refits of Type 23s have been a colossal failure. Only failure that's even greater is the mad assumptions of the 2000s about how long they would live.

@UKDefJournal Nah, the UK armed forces is a joke at present, so are those in control of it. The islands could be taken very easily and there'd likely be very little the UK could do about it.

I have to say, Egyptian OPSEC around USN ships carrying out transits of Suez has been extremely good. Not easy to hide movements. Yet I cannot recall seeing any pictures of say, Ford doing the run?
