@jack_sperry He's got a dead arm. You could see many of the deep shots he hit regularly during his career were under thrown last year. We can't survive in the north throwing TE and RB screens all game.....

Are people really not curious to see how much better Aaron Rodgers could/would be in Pittsburgh this year with an actual WR trio to work with this season? I feel like the WR room last year pretty clearly limited the amount of downfield passing opportunities (and most people acknowledge that fact), and despite that Rodgers was able to limit sacks & turnovers, consistently get the ball out in space to his playmakers, play to the offense’s strengths, came up big in a lot of the biggest moments of the year & delivered easily the best season for a Steelers QB we’ve seen in a while (not that that’s saying much). Yet it feels like a lot of the discourse around Rodgers still blames him for not throwing it downfield more even though everyone seems to acknowledge the opportunities weren’t really there & assumes it’s impossible that he could/would be better than he was last year in 2026, even though the WR room is getting a major upgrade that’s already under way with the addition of Michael Pittman Jr., and will likely end with PIT getting a top-end WR talent in the NFL Draft as well. Not to mention I think the offensive play calling should be an upgrade with Mike McCarthy compared to what it was under Arthur Smith, and Muth should be getting a MUCH bigger role in the offense which would be another boost to the passing offense. To me, this situation points to Rodgers throwing the ball downfield a lot more & being more productive & explosive in 2026 than he was in 2025 if he were to return (which seems likely at this point). Especially in this year’s QB market, I really struggle to find any QB options I think give the Steelers a better chance in 2026 than Rodgers does, even at age 43.
