@AnnaTizard Honestly, stepping away and coming back later solves a surprising number of blurb problems 😄 sometimes clarity shows up once your brain stops overthinking it. Glad you got it where you wanted it 👍

That’s honestly the best part of reading aloud 😄 when kids get that invested, you know the story is doing its job. Cliffhangers hit even harder with younger readers because they’re pure emotion and curiosity. If you ever want, I can help you find or structure cliffhangers in your own writing that keep that same “one more chapter” energy 👍

Love reading books to the kids and ending on a cliffhanger. I love hearing, “Aw, one more chapter!”

That’s a serious reading milestone 😄 100 books in a year is a strong pace, especially if you’re still writing alongside it. At that level, it can actually help to start tracking patterns like what hooks you most, pacing styles you prefer, and what kinds of openings make you keep reading. If you ever want, I can help you turn that into useful insight for your own writing or editing process 👍

That’s a smart way to build early feedback 😊 beta readers can really help you catch pacing, clarity, and character issues before release. If you want a more polished pass beyond beta feedback, I can also help with editing, formatting, or tightening the manuscript so it’s fully publication-ready 👍

Editing is honestly where most books are either elevated or held back 😊 that’s why I focus on helping authors tighten flow, pacing, clarity, and consistency while keeping their original voice intact. If you ever want, I can also do a small sample edit first so you can see the difference before committing to anything 👍

I swear writing is the only thing keeping me sane right now other than my wife. Already done with the first two chapters of my new MG horror novel called “Camp Lakeside.” First in my new MG horror series. Loving it so far. #writingcommunity #CampLakeside #FrightFalls

That actually happens a lot right after finishing a draft 😅 your brain goes from “constant momentum” to suddenly having too many directions at once. A good way to figure it out is usually asking which project already has the clearest emotional core and strongest scenes in your head right now. The one that keeps replaying naturally is often the better next move 👍

I almost hate having finished my draft because now I have writer's block and I don't know if I should plan my dystopian book or my fantasy novel sequel...ugh.

Honestly, 1,000 words on a stressful day is still progress 😊 work stress and frustrating people can drain creativity fast, so forcing huge word counts usually just leads to burnout. The good thing is you’ve got tomorrow free, so you can reset a bit and come back with a clearer head. Sometimes the best move is just protecting the momentum instead of pushing too hard on bad days 👍

Goodnight everyone 🙂 Ending the day feeling grateful, inspired, and a little excited about my next ebook about Adam and Eve. A story about love, mistakes, temptation, forgiveness… and how even from the very beginning, humans were beautifully imperfect ❤️

That’s the best feeling honestly 😄 once a WIP crosses that point, it stops feeling like an experiment and starts becoming a real book. 3k words in a day is strong momentum too. When you get deeper into revisions later, that seaside atmosphere and pacing are probably going to be what really makes the story stand out. If you ever need another set of eyes for flow, formatting, or polishing, I’d be happy to help 👍

That’s honestly solid progress 😊 2k+ words after a full shift takes real discipline. Consistency like that usually matters more long-term than huge random writing bursts. Definitely get some rest though 😄 tired drafting is where pacing and continuity mistakes love to sneak in. Looking forward to seeing how the WIP keeps developing 👍

Tired but I got some solid progress in. 2066 words written for the current WIP. Alright I'm tired. Gonna finish this shift and then get some sleep. More writing later.

That actually sounds like healthy progress 😊 the drafting stage always feels slower when you’re actively leveling up your writing at the same time. Starting queries with a manuscript you genuinely feel confident in is worth the extra time. Before July, it’ll probably help most to focus on tightening pacing, opening pages, and query package presentation so everything lands strongly from the start 👍

To my writer friends…scammers impersonating HarperCollins publishers are sending emails not asking for money, asking if you have representation. If you don’t, they’re offering to send you a name. Check their email or call/chat Harper Collins. These scammers are getting too good.

That’s honestly good advice to share 😅 publishing scams are getting much more convincing now, especially when they avoid asking for money immediately. Checking the sender domain, verifying through official HarperCollins channels, and never rushing into replies is probably the safest approach for writers right now 👍

That’s actually a very manageable cut 😊 getting from 101k to 90k is usually more about tightening pacing, repetition, and scene efficiency than removing major story pieces. The fact you’re already calling it your tightest revision is a really good sign 👍 if you want later, I can help identify areas that can be trimmed cleanly without hurting the story flow.

101,320 words, and I'm 3 chapters from finishing my tightest revision. I need to get her down to 90K words, basically cutting three (or more) chapters.😩🤦🏻‍♂️ Any advice, #writingcommunity?

That mockup looks really clean 😊 visuals like that honestly help books feel much more professional and clickable online. You could make the launch even stronger with a few more branded promo graphics, optimized Amazon visuals, and short teaser content so the book keeps attracting attention consistently instead of just on release day 👍

Honestly, that’s usually the point where a project stops feeling like an idea and starts feeling like a real book 😄 once you’re crossing 100+ pages with momentum still there, the structure and world are clearly holding up. At that stage, the main thing is keeping pacing and consistency tight so the middle doesn’t lose energy later on 👍

Two chapters done. 1908 words. Got close to chapter limit. Its not a thing yet. I dont know about you but once I get to 100-150 pages and there is still plenty left in the tank then it is A THING that could be a draft. We'll see. My target is 80k. Which is normally my first to
