@FaithForte5 There's no particular element of the lore. And the manuscript is much stronger and tighter than it was an even one revision prior.

@8MonkeyTheorem Huge milestone! How’s the manuscript feeling now that it’s in the beta stage? I’m a beta reader with book promo experience, and I’d love to help you get this ready for launch. What’s the one specific element of your vampire lore you’re most nervous about readers seeing?

@DNicholsAuthor If I read a book and think, this is brilliant; I can't do that, I will take notes and try to learn HOW they did what they did. Hopefully, I can add that to my repertoire.

Here's the thing...I read really good novels to help my writing techniques, but I also read horrible novels. If it sucks, I won't put it down or give up on it because it teaches me what NOT to do. How NOT to write and it really helps my WIP grow stronger. #WritingCommunity

@Linnaeus_Writer Compose & record music, make short feature or documentary films, play guitar, watch YouTube tutorials and learn something new... My last album is pinned for anyone who hasn't heard it.🎧

Hey #writingcommunity! Other than reading/writing, what hobbies do you have? Let's get to know each other 😊 Me: I like to play soccer, do watercolors, play piano, and collect rocks. #qotd #hobbies

@TJHall81 I find my brain is only meh when I've been toiling away on one project for a long time. But there has to be an idea in the back of your mind you've wanted to work on. So write that. It will restart your enthusiasm & unblock whatever is blocking you.

@raelynn_cantu Used to be more of a pantser until I learned how much headache is eliminated by outlining in as much detail as you can. Saves time and heartburn.

RaeLynn Cantu — is ✨QUERYING✨
Writers, are you a pantser or a planner? Personally, I am a pantser. I cannot for the life of me fully plan out a novel. I've tried and can barely get through one. When I write, I know the beginning, the middle, and how it'll end. Then I just travel along with my characters. 😅

@TommyDeanWriter 1. Is the publishing industry as dreadful as it seems to be? 2. Querying or in-person pitching, which is generally more successful for landing an agent? 3. What questions would you ask a prospective agent during an into call?

If you could ask a literary agent 3 questions, what would they be? What do you want clarity on? What continues to be confusing?

@StevenTBoers63 Back in the day, I used to love reading chapter titles. Then I started reading a series that simply numbered them, and I didn't miss the titles. I realized titles were extraneous & unnecessary.

Writing thought: I like naming chapters. I don't do it for every book, but there's something satisfying about it and trying to come up with a theme or something to connect them so they feel on brand. Do you prefer naming chapters? Or is numbering enough?

@jandrewellis I think the first and last go hand in hand, and they are my greatest fear. I could handle it if people loved it, but it never took off.

What is a bigger fear as a writer? That people won't like what you wrote? That people who find it will love it but your book will be a commercial failure? Or that people will feel they are dumber having read your book?

Books are long. Even a short book has so many words. I might be scrolling through my WIP right now. 41k words, 150 pages (some are title pages), how is that even possible?
