Here is a bit of information I would share with young Christians who aren’t finding quality dates, and it’s something I wish someone had told me when I was younger.
Christianity is a culture.
If you want to find love, you must find someone whose name is written in the Book of Life. And this culture transcends race, ethnicity, and nationality.
We live in a brand new era, one your parents didn’t know. For most of life, we were able to marry someone nearby with common interests. This alone would often bring us happiness.
But this is not true today. You might find someone locally of the same race who gets all your jokes and pop culture references, but is woke and shares none of your values. This person appears to be part of your culture, but in reality, he or she is a foreigner, just like you are to him or her. Why? Because the culture of Christ can’t coexist with progressive thought.
Meanwhile a “foreigner” from a land not your own, who might be of a different race or ethnicity, who doesn’t understand your customs or favorite music, but who loves Jesus and is a believer, is most certainly your fellow citizen! Why? He or she shares your culture and values.
How I wish people could learn that culture and not race is what matters! Evangelical white Christians in the south? You have much more in common with Nigerian Christians than you do with woke Americans on the east coast. Irish Catholics? Your Mexican neighbors to the south know you far better than the secular progressives next door.
You can’t fake the fruits of the spirit or a life dedicated to Christ.
Now yes, you can find a believer of your own race and ethnicity in your home country. There is nothing wrong with this! Nor is there a problem with having preferences.
All I ask is for people to think outside the box. Foreigners or people of other races who share Jesus aren’t foreign; they’re siblings in Christ.
We are approaching a time, if not already there, when the words “my people” won’t mean your race or countrymen, but only fellow Christians around the globe. So keep this in mind. You won’t find happiness outside Christian culture because shared VALUES, and not interests, are what you need to be married.

@AbbiAWriter It's difficult to describe. It's part memoir, part literary fiction, part fantasy, part time travel, part surrealism.

I’ve read 2 Poirot books, and absolutely loved murder on the orient express, so am keen to read more of them.

@AbbiAWriter Just started The Fifth Wound by Aurora Mattia. Very stream of consciousness, but Mattia's prose can be quite beautiful.
