@qthomp @nic_carter could the same social consensus layer not reverse course given the importance of ETH to all ecosystem stakeholders? especially nodes? ETH price is directly related to the security of the network so long run do incentives not align with ETH number go up?

@nic_carter The social consensus among .eth’s in favor of excess tokens was because the creation of endless L2s, staking, restaking, DA, etc etc all enriched their pockets on the way up but no one wants to face the music now that the market is saying that was a mistake.

Make no mistake, $ETH as an investment is completely dead. A $225 billion market cap network that is seeing declines in transaction activity, user growth and fees/revenues. There is no investment case here. As a network with utility? Yes. As an investment? Absolutely not.

if we DO go to goblin town for several months, will DCA significantly back into core defi … the reg risk is almost completely off the table opening the door for fee switches/buybacks and I think we see another DeFi summer move … real revenues + PMF + reg clarity = WIN

cautiously took some chips off during this bounce but if we do go to goblin town, hard to believe it will be long lived. can’t see the powers that be allowing a full 08’ unwind even if it would be extremely healthy… eventually the Fed will blink and we speed run to $5T+
