APEDA showcased India’s diverse agri-export basket at the 40th edition of AAHAR 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 10th to 14th March 2026. The APEDA Pavilion brought together exporters, startups, producer organisations and State representatives to highlight India’s strengths in Basmati and Non-Basmati Rice, Organic Products, plant-based foods and value-added agricultural products. Spread across 2,500 sq. metres with participation from over 100 exhibitors, the pavilion served as a dynamic platform for industry interactions, product showcases, and buyer engagement. Research reports on key commodities, developed with ICRIER as Knowledge Partner, were also released, alongside packaging design initiatives in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP). Marking a Proud Milestone for Assam’s Agri-Exports! The 1.2 MT shipment marks a significant milestone in promoting premium agricultural produce from Karbi Anglong Ginger to global markets. The consignment was ceremonially flagged off in the presence of senior state officials and APEDA representatives, reflecting strong institutional support for farmers and exporters from the North Eastern Region. APEDA, in collaboration with the Government of Sikkim, organised the Sikkim Organic Conclave-cum-International Buyer Seller Meet on 27–28 February, Gangtok, Sikkim, to strengthen the State’s organic export ecosystem. The Inaugural Session of the Conclave was graced by Shri Puran Kumar Gurung, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Government of Sikkim; Shri Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA; Shri Jigmee Dorjee Bhutia, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Horticulture, Government of Sikkim; and Ms. Jennifer H. Chang, Executive Director, IFOAM Organics Asia. A key highlight was the Buyer–Seller Meet connecting around 40 international buyers from the UAE, the USA, and other key global markets with 20 Indian exporters. The event saw active participation from nearly 100 FPOs/FPCs and over 10 exhibitors showcasing Sikkim’s organic basket, including Large Cardamom, the vibrant GI-tagged Dalle Khursani, Sikkim Mandarin, Buckwheat, Orchids, and Turmeric, amongst others. APEDA also released the report titled “Supply Chain and Export Readiness for Organic Farm Products in Sikkim,” prepared by NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDSL). Biofach has invited India to be the country of the year, and we have taken this call because we believe the organic ecosystem in India is now maturing well enough and there is an immense opportunity for further strengthening our supply chain with the EU. Biofach is the biggest global exhibition in the organic field, and with the Indian industry being here in large numbers, I think it is a good exposure to the industry as to what the standards and quality the world is looking at, and it is also a good exposure to the world of what India offers. There are many GI products which India offers which are derived by quality and that I think once the foreign buyers are able to see those products in big numbers, meet our industry, meet our producers, I think enough confidence will be built between the businesses on both sides so that more exports can come to Europe and other developed markets because we get buyers from more than 100 countries in this Biofac..."

This export will unlock significant opportunities for a larger number of farmers, including tribal communities engaged in tapioca sago cultivation, by enhancing incomes & enabling greater access to global markets, while further strengthening India's agri exports.
