@Ablationist @Mollyploofkins Or fewer voters registered before 1900. Maybe post-Civil War voter suppression was increasing followed by the immigration wave of the early 1900s. This expanded the pool of registered voters while limiting who could vote. Women couldn't vote until 1920, 18-20 yo until 1971.
