@NoContextCounty It’s all about who they select. We need a lot more intelligent batters and bowlers. We lack a lot of that across all formats. Yes, some of the super talented players can get away with it but the majority have a long way to go proving their places

How optimistic/pessimistic are you about the direction of English cricket over the next 12-18 months?

Joao Neves had the same agent man.. why couldn't he be part of the deal instead of Ugarte😭
UtdXclusive@UtdXclusive

🚨🗣️ @AndyMitten on Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United: "At the time [summer 2024], the club wanted Amrabat to stay and Erik ten Hag was up for that. I think Ugarte was wrapped up in the Leny Yoro deal as they both share the same agent - Jorge Mendes." [@TOTDevils pod]

John Terry has appeared to endorse a UK politician’s social media post that advocates for a nationwide ban on the burqa before deleting his comment. The former England captain is still involved in football and has been in an academy coaching consultancy role with Chelsea since 2021, working in a part-time capacity that involves mentoring academy players. Rupert Lowe, an independent Member of Parliament (MP) and founder of Restore Britain, a recently registered political party, uploaded a photo to Instagram that stated his intention to outlaw the garment, worn by some Muslim women, if Restore Britain was to ever form a government. Restore Britain was launched in June as a pressure group and announced in March that it was an officially registered political party. It does not hold any seats in parliament. @mroller98 Love this idea. Someone wrote below get rid of the champions trophy & I totally agree as no ones cares about that at all. Be amazing to see European teams play against each other including England. Best way to grow the sport

Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

@WG_RumblePants I honestly believe Stewart would be more direct which could be harsher but that’s better for players. With Key & Baz they don’t want to come across badly but being wishy-washy is worse

This just seems to be another example of how Rob Key is in over his head. There have got to be other people out there with more experience and a better temperament for his job? I can tell you one thing. You can bet your bottom dollar Alec Stewart wouldn’t run things this way.

@megan_feringa Missing some very important players. Another Skinner & his coaches poor tactical display. Sadly an error from Janssen which she seems to do more often in these big games. Saying that the players tried until the end but were missing that clinical-ness and control.

@StickToCricket They keep giving players who have failed constantly or show no real love for England chances. You aren’t helping players grow if the eh keep failing and there are no consequences

@SwedishRumble Lammens calmness is what the squad needs. Yes Vitek is top notch & a mate is a bristol city fan and they love him but all say Vitek has more errors in him still growing. He and Lammens in the same squad makes us a lot stronger.

@prasannalara Salman is in the wrong the entire time. He thought he was behind the line before Mehidy attempts to stop the ball. Its not even a discussion. Plus trying to pick up the ball when you are out of the crease, is a No brainer. #villagecricket

According to the laws - Mehidy is right But you can see Agha leaning down to take the ball and trying to help mehidy. Also Agha not trying to attempt a run here. He Cudnt get back to the crease because mehidy was on his way after the batsmen made contact with the ball. So in my opinion run out attempt should have been avoided. Iam with Salman Agha. Unfortunate dismissal.
Cricbuzz@cricbuzz

Oh dear… this one’s going to be debated for a while 👀 Whose side are you on here? Salman Agha or Mehidy? #BANvPAK

@thecricketmen Exactly. Salman thought he was in the crease but he messed up massively. If he was pushed out of the crease & that happened then it would be unfair.

@TheBarmyArmy Anyone that thinks that Salman was unlucky has No Idea about the rules of cricket. This is not about the spirit of cricket. Hes a pro & was out of his crease. Pick the ball up in the crease, then can understand. This is village cricket mentality

@MichaelVaughan Valid points but the WI & SA boards really aren't flush with money. A lot of these players are millionaires and could pitch together to get a charter flight out to somewhere atleast and then make their way home. I mean its ridiculous they are still there. #commonsense
