PFA Scotland has been consistent in voicing its concerns for our members workplace safety. Despite our previous warnings; pitch invasions, verbal and physical threats and other workplace incidents in the SPFL and Scottish Cup have continued.
PFA Scotland has already raised the issue of “clubs investigating clubs” and now there is an urgent need to review the regulatory framework regarding unacceptable conduct regulations and investigations, in order to secure transparent and independent outcomes which support player safety and the good of the game.
The circumstances at the weekend cause us to directly restate our view that PFA Scotland should be part of a review into the regulatory framework applied to “unacceptable conduct” to ensure that the interests of the players are paramount and that their safety must be the number one issue when independently regulating these challenging issues.
Fraser Wishart, PFA Scotland Chief Executive Officer.

SHOCKING CASE: PAEDOPHILE WHO HAD INDECENT IMAGES OF 3 MONTH OLD BABIES ALLOWED TO WALK FREE!!
A 20-year-old man from the Isle of Wight who downloaded and distributed indecent images of children as young as three months old has been handed a suspended prison sentence at the Crown Court.
Samuel Huckle of St Faiths Road in Cowes, was sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, after admitting multiple child sexual image offences.
Huckle came to the attention of the National Crime Agency (NCA), which alerted local police to his online activity. Investigators traced indecent material shared via Snapchat to his address, leading officers to execute a warrant in August 2023. Two mobile phones, a laptop and a desktop computer were seized.
Analysis of the devices uncovered more than 1,000 indecent images and videos of children aged between three months and 10 years old, most involving girls. The material included 532 Category A images (the most serious classification), 337 Category B images and 377 Category C images. Some of the files had been concealed in a “vault” application disguised as a calculator.
Huckle admitted one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, two counts of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, and three counts of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child when he first appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court in November. The case was later committed to the Crown Court due to its seriousness.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) told the court that Huckle began searching for sexual images of children during the COVID-19 lockdown, claiming he acted out of “curiosity and boredom.” Prosecutors said he admitted to having a sexual attraction to children and to sharing some of the most serious material in order to receive similar content in return.
During sentencing, Judge Michael Bowes KC described the offences as “extremely serious” and emphasised that the case involved real children who had been “horrifically abused.” The judge also highlighted disturbing aspects of the evidence, including Huckle’s admission that he exchanged increasingly severe material online.
Defence counsel Jim Osborne told the court that his client, who is undergoing assessment for autism, was isolated during lockdown and spent much of his time alone. He said Huckle was remorseful and claimed to feel empathy for the victims, though the judge stated that the evidence did not support that assertion.
In addition to the suspended prison sentence, Huckle was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years. He must also complete 18 hours of unpaid work, undertake 10 rehabilitation activity days and participate in a 26-week accredited programme aimed at addressing his sexual behaviour.

@IainMerc @talkSPORT and nothing from Fraser Wishart & PFA Scotland as yet ? There was a statement the day after the OF game scenes.
English

Listening to Martin O’ Neill on @talkSPORT there failing to call out the thugs on the pitch, scenes of violence in Glasgow and, instead, deflecting away to the Old Firm match and that pitch invasion. 10/10 for whataboutery. Poor and classless 🤔.
English

so @PFAScotland made a statement a day after the OF game in March !
Anything forthcoming after the scenes at the weekend re player health & safety in their workplace, accountabilty, protections and sanctions ?
