Rupert Lowe is on a sacred quest to find 650 candidates for the next election who are a breed apart from the dross we’ve come to tolerate. He’s on a sticky wicket there because they simply don’t exist. If they did exist they wouldn’t support a slop party like Restore Britain. The rot we’ve got is about as good as we can expect. Our MPs, sadly, very much do represent who we are as a people. As much as anything, we do not want a parliament full of cranky right wingers. I can’t imagine anything worse than a parliament full of Rupert Lowe types even if I basically agree with him on a lot of things. You do actually need some well adjusted normal people who care about the NHS and the more boring aspects of education, policing and welfare, and you definitely do need people who aren’t inherently hostile to the very idea of the civil service. As such, I think it’s futile hoping a restocking exercise in the Westminster pond would make any real difference. What’s needed is a concerted campaign (let’s call it Operation Wake-up) that will target middle of the road MPs with a dose of reality. The problem with our politics is the hard right spends most of its time bludgeoning far left people who simply do not have a grasp on reality, and nothing productive will emerge from that - not least since our target audience to not live on X the way we do. Meanwhile, there are dozens of basically sane politicians who stay out of the limelight, who just need a little nudge to acknowledge certain basic realities. We need them to acknowledge publicly what they’d readily concede in private. The question is, how do we do that, and what do we wish to communicate to them? I would suggests keeping it to ten basic points. Here are my suggestions in no particular order: Demographics: Ethnic British people are set to become a minority. This matters because if the British people disappear then so do the British values that created our “tolerant liberal democracy”. Third-worlders with third world values bring their backward cultural practices and their tribal politics that will eventually destroy our democracy. The signs are already there if you care enough to look. Integration: You cannot integrate people who don’t even want to be British, especially when they’re not wanted or needed here. The basic rule for further immigration is not to allow immigration from places that native Brits would not emigrate to. Defence: Mass immigration is compromising our foreign policy and undermining our safety. Third-worlders with divided loyalties will not fight in our wars, and will likely have sympathies with our enemies. Welfare: You cannot sustain a functioning welfare system when there are entire cohorts of foreigners who will never be net contributors. It’s not fair and it’s politically unsustainable. ADHD is not a disability. Depression isn’t a reason to warehouse people on benefits. Education: The university industrial complex must be dismantled. A degree is no longer useful to social mobility and degree requirements are making it harder to recruit the people we need for important roles that can be done by anyone switched on (even if they have just a mediocre set of GCSEs). We shouldn’t be saddling kids with debt for useless qualifications. Energy: Renewable energy can never replace fossil fuels. Net Zero is adding to the cost of energy. Without cheap energy the entire economy falls apart. Taxation: For the love of god, please start understanding the Laffer Curve. Schools: Women don’t have dicks. Men cannot become women. It’s ok to be white. Britain has nothing to apologise for. Health: Hospitals are crap because the GP system and the care system is crap. Fix these bottlenecks and hospitals will improve. Democracy: Parliament outranks judges. The task, I think, is to put these points to them in their own language. Calling them "traitorous quisling scum" might be cathartic but I know of no example where it's caused anyone to change their mind.
