It’s better to share gratitude too early rather than too late, but too late is better than never. It is often very difficult to share the stories of those we have lost. But the reason I feel it is so important to do so is because the stories their legacies live on. My kids will have never met my dad, but I promise you that they will know him. Today I wanted to share a story about the passing of my dog Cooper and how much joy she brought to our lives. It wasn’t easy to do this, but I know, that all of the joy that she brought me through the decade that she was in our home this pain is something that I can deal with in return for all of the joy I received from her. When you share the stories of those you have lost, their legacy continues to live on in you and those who hear about their impact.

Our very own Shelly Swartz was awarded the Midwest Region DoDEA Grants Inspire Award! Shelly is in an elite group of six educators across the United States to receive this award which is the first of its’ kind for the national DoDEA grants program.
