This was done on International Yoga Day with no intention to be disrespectful as the girl in question explains in her video, and she sounds sincere. The UN accepts Yoga but the SGPC ridicules it & absurdly and irrelevantly refers to the superior martial art of Sikhs. This disowning of Yoga insults India’s civilisational legacy and is deeply offensive. SGPC can have rules of behaviour to maintain the sanctity and solemnity of the Golden Temple but showing contempt for Yoga and giving it a communal colour is unacceptable. The SGPC is doing disservice to the Sikh community that has traditionally been treated with respect for its many qualities.
