Defending Your Life remains my favorite Albert Brooks film. Funny and humane and powerful enough to maybe even make you think about your own life and be braver with the decisions you make going through it.

My fave Albert Brooks movie, DEFENDING YOUR LIFE released 35 yrs ago today. It’s a timeless comedy about facing your fears to achieve happiness. There are a lot of films that try to capture true intimacy & finding your person. This scene is the perfect encapsulation of true love.

Can you imagine a four-way tie at the Oscars? They would announce each winner one by one, until all that remained was one loser. At that point, the loser would get so much attention that they would become the real winner.

It’s truly an egregious omission considering that WB’s trio of films took the lion share of awards when all 3 benefited from the IMAX experience.
I love IMAX and I’m grateful I got to go on a tour of the headquarters last summer.

AMPAS/Oscar CEO Bill Kramer apparently blocked me on Instagram last night after seeing my post expressing disappointment about the broadcast’s In Memoriam omission of my father.
