Today I happened to be sitting next to two white European guys. We started talking and they asked what my thoughts were about #Xenophobia etc. They then shared that they are in #Zimbabwe because they are moving their factories here from SA like many others. @matigary @RexMidzi

The rich play this game well, they are lawyered up and have accountants on their payroll. So let me add some more context 🔻 SARS taxes the ‘profit before tax’ for companies, so if you look at the income statement, you’ll see that salaries paid out reduces taxable income for a company. 🟡Top line (Sales) 🟡Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 - 𝗖𝗢𝗚𝗦 = 🟡Gross Profit - 🟠 Salaries ———- = PROFIT BEFORE TAX (PBT) ————- - 🔴Tax Expense =🟣 Net income This shifts the tax liability to the employee where they have to pay personal income tax. So, paying yourself a dividend, too, might not be the best move. As a business owner, you should always pay yourself a salary first up until your personal marginal tax bracket catches up to the corporate tax rate. Only when your personal income exceeds the point where your personal tax bracket is higher than 41.6% does declaring dividends become a viable strategy to limit your tax liability. At that point, one should freeze their salary and then take any extra business profits as dividends to cap the tax rate at 41.6% You can also use debt strategically.

You start a company, make profit, SARS takes 27%. Then from what’s left, you pay yourself a dividend and SARS takes 20% of that. How does this make sense?

The first-ever Club Med Resort in South Africa - valued at R2.1 billion - is officially open👏🌊 The beach-bush resort combo, with its coastal Club Med hotel and Vikela Safari Lodge, officially opened its doors to guests over the weekend. Construction began in early 2024, and I visited the site in December 2025 while they were in the final phases of development. Construction took a total of 28 months. The beach resort offers: • 310 superior rooms • 35 deluxe rooms • 66 suites The 18 000-hectare big-5 safari lodge, situated in the private Mpilo Game Reserve, offers 80 rooms. Who’s visiting the new Club Med sometime soon? I would love to hear about your experience in the comments section.

There’s something strange about this World Cup, but somehow everyone is pretending it looks normal. France are fighting for their lives in the Round of 16. Brazil already had a tough first knockout game. England have a serious opponent in the Round of 16. Portugal had a difficult group and now have Spain waiting. Every big team has had to suffer somewhere. Except one. One team has somehow been given a clean road straight to the quarter-finals, and we’re meant to believe it’s just coincidence.

To further facilitate trade and investment between China and Africa, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) has designated Standard Bank South Africa and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) as Joint RMB Clearing Banks for Africa, serving as the central hub for RMB-denominated financial services across the continent. This will provide robust financial support for cross-border infrastructure connectivity, seamless trade, and deeper financial integration between China and Africa, while establishing a solid cross-border RMB payment channel for Chinese and African enterprises engaged in economic and trade cooperation.

I'm going to throw a party the day South Africa finally leaves the world cup, their first march really fooled us. I was thinking they couldn't escape group stage. But one thing is for sure, they won't pass round of 16.

@FAmmiranteTFJ Fran Frank Frank there you go again doing a South Korea on SA. Canada has never beaten SA but have been beaten 2:0 in their only encounter. Where is your confidence coming from? We are scared of Canada in Ice Hockey, not soccer🤷

Bafana & Canada have only met once in a competitive match. It was back in June 2007 in an international friendly, Bafana won 2-0.. They are not our daily bread but more like a French/English butter tart we ate once, loved & would like to devour again in a hurry😂 #BafanaKaofella
