@Maitttt14 @emezie He was considering retiring back then and actually did for a time period because he saw no future in fighting games. Which for the time period, was extremely valid

I don't like how the narrative has been about Daigo's age.
It's not his age, it's the game. Other 40+ yr old players have done well in SF6.
SF6's design just doesn't jive with his playstyle & it makes me sad that this one particularly volatile SF has him considering retirement.

Daigo on stream talking about Kemonomichi. He says he seriously planned on retiring if he lost to Mena. The reason being that since SF6 release he has not felt “strong” or the motivation to improve like in his youth in the arcade days. But after 3 months of training, in the final week before the match he thought, “Wait a minute. Am I strong again? This is what it felt like back in the day.” He was incredibly stressed the day before the match and couldn’t eat, and said just walking outside felt like he was already in the fight. He thought he wouldn’t be able to sleep due to stress, but surprisingly fell asleep easily - however when he woke up he had tears in his eyes. He doesn’t know why, but he thinks it’s because he had a dream where he quit Fighting Games. After he lost to Mena, he still thought it was time to retire. But in the taxi ride back to Tokyo, Eita kept bothering him and begging him not to. Daigo agreed just to shut him up, but then he thought back on that feeling of being strong in the last week and thought if he could keep that same motivation and approach he had for Kemonomichi, he could become strong again. For now he has decided to continue competing, but is taking a short rest after the set.

Changing air armada over harbor was the wrong decision imo. I get that it was the most banned stage, but harbor has been shown to be much more problematic. All you needed to change about Armada was the slanted walls. Having 1 stage to be able to go under i'd argue is necessary

There are Clairen mains in 1600 who don’t know how to DI Maypul’s tether confirms, how to amsah tech her dash attack, or that you shouldn’t DI in on Maypul’s dash attack or uptilt. These people are allowed in this elo because they play Clairen and no other reason.

I feel like I’m the only one who would genuinely prefer an actual C-Stick over the buttons (With the left stick in this position). Still a sick product regardless though!

@AcePilotLunar the problem is that if you can’t, it becomes a very weak mechanic that is basically just a slightly better shield you only have proper access to at lower percents. fh allows you to play more aggressively than that, and unlocks new paradigms of counterplay

Floorhugs biggest issue is honestly just that you can do it while in the endlag of a move, making whiff punishing not as rewarding as it should be imo. That’s honestly it

@SwitchSSB It’s absolutely a preference and I also understand your POV here, it just feels bad sometimes when I guess correctly on an opponents aggressive option and go for a punish but because it’s low percent, I then get punished for not using grab or a spike.

@cars2luver369 Genuinely, I think that smash as a competitive game just hasn’t really been good since melee but it’s just such a fun experience inherently and we all want to make it competitive. But as the meta develops is just becomes clear that the engines reward overly un-interactive play

People definitely collectively weren't a huge fan of smash 4 by the launch of ultimate but also every ultimate top 8 is supposedly "the worst top 8 in ult history" so idk I think a lot of modern smash players just like to shit on their game lol

Small PlatFighter games should all come together once a year and host their own form of super smash con.
Nasb1/2, Rivals/2, Fraymakers, Rushdev/Icons, Flash Party, Slap City, AFQM, Brawlout etc. pooling the resources and try for like 100-200 entrants would be lit.

I don't see anyone talking about it, but Air Armada is definitely gone next patch. This was the placeholder image for stage skins, but now it's just on the basic CSS. Also the blast zone visual potentially hints at some Aether Mode Stages, very exciting!

No Home connectivity, no way to trade with GBA games.
Even if u purify every single Shadow Pokémon and get the three Gen 2 starters from Mt. Battle, they're all gonna be stuck in that game forever.

@danfornace Genuinely, why does Olympia not lose these 2 recovery options when hit? Side Special and Down special Dash are such strong recovery options. Wouldn't it make more sense to only have them refreshed when she touches stage given that she's supposed to be a glass cannon?
