If you actually read the statements of the floor-crossers, their chief criticism of Pierre Poilievre is that he isn't a prime minister who can give them stuff.

Today, Sikh and Punjabi communities in Alberta and around the world mark Vaisakhi, one of the most significant days in the Sikh calendar, celebrating both the founding of the Khalsa and the spring harvest. In honour of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru, Vaisakhi is celebrated through acts of seva – selfless service to others without expectation of reward, a pillar of the Sikh faith. To all those observing Vaisakhi, I wish you a joyful celebration and a meaningful Sikh Heritage Month, marked by pride in your faith, culture and contributions to our province. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

"Higher-income Canadian households are benefiting from investment gains, while lower-income households are seeing their incomes lag behind rising food costs. The result is a clear divergence: one group moving ahead, another falling behind, and a middle class slowly eroding. This matters enormously for food..."
The Food Professor@FoodProfessor

Over the past two years, we’ve been fixated on prices: why groceries cost more, why inflation remains stubborn, and why relief hasn’t materialized for many households. But we are missing the bigger issue...

This incisive report provides clarity on the alleged mechanisms of this election result corruption operation, including dangling a judicial appointment to spur a by election, LPC MP muppet recruiters sensing willingness in CPC MPs and Carney subsequently ‘bumping’ them as they might say in @csiscanada tradecraft. People say it’s our legal democratic system, to me it’s proof of a broken democracy that was broke long before this type of absolute contempt for citizens surfaced. Again, I doubt that a hostile state would not take advantage in the current chaotic geopolitical environment. This is what ‘targeting’ lists and collection are made for.

Poilievre's Conservatives are dealing with a hangover as Carney's Liberals celebrate their majority. The pain may not be over for the Conservatives as Liberals recruit more CPC MPs, which might spell the end of Poilievre. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

Happy Vaisakhi to all celebrating across Canada and around the world. May this season of renewal reflect the spirit of selfless service, generosity, and community. The Khalsa represents the very best of Sikh identity.

You voted. You made your voice heard. And now, behind closed doors, politicians who decided their ambition mattered more than your choice traded your vote away like a bargaining chip. And while the Prime Minister was busy engineering that deal, your groceries and gas got more expensive, your rent went up and day to day, everything gets more expensive. Canada now carries more debt than at any point in our history, with the fastest shrinking economy in the G7. They’re counting on you to feel defeated. To walk away. To let them govern without ever having to answer to you again. Don’t. Your family deserves affordable food, a home they can live in and one day own, and streets where they feel safe. Canada’s workers, those in uniform, and everyone trying to do better than the last generation deserve a government that respects them. We’re not going anywhere. And neither should you.

The Carney Liberals did not win a majority government through a general election or today's by-elections. Instead, it was won through backroom deals with politicians who betrayed the people who voted for them. While the Prime Minister spent the year on this cynical power grab, he has doubled the deficit, and given Canada the worst grocery prices and housing costs in the G7. Liberals expect Canadians to give up, get complacent and go away, so Carney can have total power without any accountability. That will not happen. Our country and its people are worth fighting for. We will continue to fight for people to afford homes, food and fuel. We will continue to fight for safety in our streets. We will continue to fight for our resource workers and soldiers. I will continue to lead that fight every day and in every way in Parliament, across the country and in the next election, when Canadians will reclaim the country we know and love.

The owner of an Ontario-based staffing agency has been fined $70,000, sentenced to two years of probation, and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty to two counts of employment-related offences under Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Kevin Kielty, who ran an agency called One Team, was charged in May 2024 after a joint CBSA and RCMP investigation that began in June 2022 identified over 90 Mexican nationals working without proper authorization across four resort hotels in the Banff and Jasper area. The investigation found that workers were coordinated through Kielty’s agency and transported from Ontario to Alberta to work illegally in the hospitality sector inside Banff National Park. According to the CBSA, this marks Kielty’s second conviction under the IRPA. In November 2023, he pleaded guilty to four counts of similar offences in Ontario and was sentenced to 18 months of house arrest.

Two local community members are being recognized after helping save a person’s life during a medical emergency in Edmonton. According to Alberta Health Services, Prabhakaran and Anantdeep rushed to assist after learning someone had collapsed behind their workplace, with one guiding paramedics to the scene while the other performed CPR until help arrived. Both were presented with Citizen Awards in recognition of their actions during the successful resuscitation.

Mark Carney's innovation is to never underestimate the ignorance of the Canadisn voter, the corruption of Canadian politicians, or the perfidy of the Canadian press. He treats everything and everyone with breathtaking contempt and is endlessly, fabulously rewarded for it.
