This account presents itself as if it is an official Republic of Somaliland government account, but it is not affiliated with the Government of Somaliland.
It uses the name “REPUBLIC OF SOMALILAND,” the handle @RepOfSomaliland, and posts statements as though it officially represents Somaliland.
This creates public confusion and falls under X’s Deceptive Identity / Impersonation policy.
How to report:
1. Go to the profile: Open @RepOfSomaliland.
2. Click the three dots (...) at the top right and select "Report @RepOfSomaliland".
3. Select Reason: "Impersonation".
4. Select "Someone else on X is being impersonated".
5. Under "tell us more about who’s being impersonated":
Search for and select the official government handle:

I wish I was blessed with an ethnic Somali name like look at these beautiful names instead I was cursed with an Arabic name I’m planning on naming my kids ethnic Somali names and hopefully a Somali last name 🙏🏾 the last surname in my family was my great great great grandfather 😭

@hyejtejegney No. Hodan, Sagal, Liban, Hanad, Roble, Awil, Shirmake, Are also Isaaq names. I don’t know about Ayan and some of the other names.

@AdalUnion Waxkasta lagumahadlo . It’s clearly just average Somali names . Isaaq names are Guled, egal, kayse,deria,cigaal,barkhad,biixi. And the females Edna ,kiin and Baxsan.

This is the first reason to adopt and promote the term “Somalian” as a distinction: the continuous humiliation they are projecting on the world stage, which ends up demonising every Somali person.
They couldn’t contain this humiliation in their home and instead chose to present it to the world, repeatedly using a “Somali” name that has never been a national designation for any country.
In the clip, a Somalian government official is asked about the Somalian government ironically referred to as the “Somalian government” and his response is, as typical, “Somalian.” 👇🏾
