@Openside77tkj @Brendennel Munster and ulster can collectivly stat pad wins against the italian teams, dragons and Zebre tho. The prem only has Newcastle for that

@AdamCla86997443 @Brendennel OFC when you get a diluted comp & 8 teams in that comp makes sense get more teams in knockouts. Yet haven't won it in a while & teams w/4 wins shouldn't be anywhere near the CC. Munster & Ulster have more than double those win totals & 1 of them won't make CC.

If we are going to ahve a conversation about the Champions Cup it is worth mentioning Gloucester, who have won 4 games out of 15 in this year's prem, will qualify as the 8th team out of 10 in the English prem. And some people say SA teams devalue the Cup.

@WillDevEdwards @Fvdeventer123 @Brendennel 4 different winners is less than 6 isn't it? Think if we prompted the top 6 from the champ and had as many games teams like Gloucester and Quins would probably pick up as many wins as the 8th places URC side does. Thing is 9th placed Quins have knocked out URC playoff teams

@AdamCla86997443 @Fvdeventer123 @Brendennel Far less varied? The URC has had four different winners in the last four years and teams actually try for eighth place rather than stumbling to 3rd from bottom for the same CC spot.

@edwards_callum @Brendennel There are also similar cases of English teams sending weakend teams which would fall in favour of the other leagues too. Clearly they're not as good at capitilising

@AdamCla86997443 @Brendennel Not really, lot of things have to fall in to place. For example, Stormers sent a really really weakened team to Quins once, and when French teams know they won’t qualify they also send weakened teams. That falls in favour to English teams .

@edwards_callum @Brendennel Says a lot about the teams from the URC and Top 14 who can't make it out the pool then dosn't it if they're worse than that

@AdamCla86997443 @Brendennel The biggest score lines in knockout rugby history are involving Prem teams. Bordeaux 64 Tigers 14 Toulouse 59 Bears 26 Leinster 43 Sale 13 Toulon 72 Saracens 42 Leinster 62 Quins 0 Glasgow 43 Tigers 19

@Fvdeventer123 @Brendennel 6 different winners in 6 years. France and the URC far less varied and far less competitive as compertions

@adrian_slabbert And yet the prem has consistently got more teams into the knockouts than both the URC and Top 14.....

They are all quality teams but logistically a nightmare for everyone involved. Cup needs a serious revamp, starting with how 8/10 teams from the Prem qualify? Whilst arguably better URC and T14 teams play in the Challenge Cup.

@edwards_callum If a team is losing places in the comp why is it the comp which is providing the most teams to the knockouts? Top 5 from each league and best in challenege Leaves 21 extras from the 3 leagues and then a team from Georgia, Portugal and Spain for the challenge

@AdamCla86997443 My idea 6- Prem Teams 8-T14 8-URC 2 extra places for winner of Challenge Cup and awarded to the league of whoever wins Champions Cup If winner of Challenge Cup has qualified then next best ranked in the same league. This is taking into account amount of teams each league has

@edwards_callum I don't disagree. I think the comp needs slimming down. But it needs slimming down from all three leagues not just one imo.

@AdamCla86997443 Competition structure allowing top 4 + 5th placed challenge cup is ridiculous too. It should be Top 2 pool leaders heading straight into 1/4 finals. 3rd place can go challenge cup. This competition needs to be the pinnacle and can’t be when you allow basically a full league in

@OMG_ITS_NDABA @T2Rugby I obviously don't thinl Kolbe is a bad player. However this does kinda prove he was playing well below standard in previous seasons

@Slipcatch I don't think it's good i just don't think it's bad. It wasn't any different to how other players from either side behaved. It was a whole non event which has been made one because of who Pollock is

So there is so called rugby people on here that reckons Henry Pollock behavior of the weekend is good for rugby. It is okay, it is your right to believe so. Our rugby culture is so different. The Newlands crowd in the old days, those standing in front of the main pavilion and behind the poles, they would have teach him rugby culture. 🤣

@JoeNaConnacht Judging from recent Quins performances, we'll be close to world beaters. Benson in great form, Marcus Smith, Luke Northmore, Cadan Murley and he's managed to get young Bryn Bradley in with Wales

Here he is — Gerard Mullen Heard a lot of good things about him. Chatting to a few people over the weekend, they rate him very highly, The lack of tries from the 10–15 is the weakest part of Connacht Rugby’s game in the URC, so hopefully we start to see real improvement.
Joe Naughton@JoeNaConnacht

Really positive rumours about a new backs/skills coach for Connacht, great to see young Irish talented coaches coming west. I’d imagine there will be announcement soon.
