You made reinforcements to compete at the top of the division The squad u had would have been in and around the top half without additions Makes my point really, it’s become normality for sides to go up to league two and to then stay up by a landslide, what other divisions are regularly like this?

No it doesn’t. Getting into the EFL should be hard and also the fact we have one automatic place means we have this great battle. If 2 went up automatically no one cares who finishes top apart from fans and even then all they really want is promotion.

@SamuelCol1115 @DarranPearce Not a chance we’d have finished top half without additions. We conceded 65 goals in the NL despite walking it. More than 22nd place Kiddy. We were also 16th mid-March last year. If you ask any fan of a recently promoted team they will tell you it’s a bigger jump than you think.

@SamuelCol1115 @DarranPearce Quality gap between top 3 of NL and L2 maybe. For the rest of the NL the quality gap is enormous. We won the league in March and had to sign a whole new team to compete.

@Danny_h_2005 @SpireLegends Promotion is absolutely beyond us right now. Last 10 games form is 19th in the league, which for the incredible backing over the summer is poor. Repeating same mistakes - not signing a centre half? Should have been a priority in the summer. Giving VDC a new deal? signing Tanton?

@willgevans1 @beespod We were fairly lucky to sneak in the playoffs last year. It was a poor L2 but the step up from the NL is big in terms of organisation, fitness and physicality. I’m sure Brennan will know all this though. You are my dark horses next year

@beespod Obviously this is somewhat dependent on the quality of our final couple of signings, but I don't see any reason why we can't push for the top 7. I'd imagine our promotion squad is comparable with Chesterfield's NL-winning team, and they made the playoffs despite an injury crisis.

Naturally I enjoyed that! Big statement for #Spireites to win at Doncaster. Deserved it, 3-0. But no way did #DRFC deserve to finish with nine men (two sent off). On the rough end of some decisions. Should have had a penalty. Could have been closer.
