I have data going back to 1927. There are 94 worse days than yesterday. Double the number of trading days, yet triple the number of occurrences. This guy is engaging in period selection bias - the conclusion is a function of the data sample. I also looked at what happens in the 100 days after such an event. The market was up 65% of the time and the average gain was 21%! The bad news is that if the market went lower, it really did tank and lose 15-20%.
