@BryanHoch It’s not like Weathers has ever had any sold success at the MLB level.
English

Yeah… I think the issue is the game has changed since the 90s dynasty. The Yankees really HAVE been good enough to win multiple times in the Judge era and have run into bad luck or their own mistakes or circumstance…
2017 cheating scandal
2019 Astros team was arguably best that franchise ever had… and still Yanks were right there… was there still cheating? Who knows… but even without it they were one Chapman pitch away
2020 Covid year — nothing made sense
2022 trade deadline moves derailed by injuries… otherwise that team coulda had a real shot
2023 toe injury
2024 World Series where they shot themselves in the foot
They’re a team that’s like playing Russian roulette and every time shoots themselves in the head…. The odds are they SHOULD have won at least one of those
But they didn’t
Hopefully odds catch up

@NamethatYank I will never abandon the Yankees. I think we all just want the title back in NYC. It's been too long.
English

You're a better person than me. I wish I had your optimism and confidence.
I just don't believe anymore, and I am tired of perennial disappointment.
Mr. Name That Yank@NamethatYank
@Jay_McGill94 The Yankees have a chance every single year and they make the playoffs every single year. That’s why. Where there’s a will and the best offensive player in baseball on the same roster, there’s a chance.
English

@victoraren57 @MissYankee I really don’t think it has anything to do with service time and more to do with wanting him to be a starter and making sure he gets enough innings before a pen role this year
English

I think the thinking is to delve him as a starter he needs 120+ innings this season. If he comes up right away in pen they could set him back as a starter. If they give him a few months in minors to get some innings then bring him in pen or rotation if needed he’s still on track to be a starter in ‘27 and he’s probably more
Valuable to franchise long term as an SP who can thrown 102 for 5+ innings. This strategy is trying to have best of both worlds. I’m sure they know they can’t keep that arm down there for long…
English

@JohnC112461 They're bullpen is terrible right now and they need him. Why waste his talent in the minors?
English

@YankeeSource @FolliesBlue How can he turn that FB into a strength? With that velo one would think he could? Does he need better location? IVB? Does it just sit on the middle of the plate ?
English

@AdamHorowitzLA @FolliesBlue Agree. He does have to battle a bit because his sweeper is not going to be in the zone a lot when he’s ahead in the count. Usually leads to long count and then he’ll need to mix in more fastballs (which isn’t his strength).

English

@YankeeSource @FolliesBlue Watching him — it seems like he needs to work on his pitch mix. Like he goes to the fast ball too much. His sweeper looked great, he had a nice K of Kirk on one. Maybe he just needs to be less predictable
English

@FolliesBlue Yea. He’s not pitching to a .500 BABIP this year. What I do like is the 12.41 K/9 and 2.19 BB/9. Results have been bad, but that’s the underlying stat that could lead to some success.
English

@Delta why did you move my children on their upcoming flight ? and why won't you put them back in their assigned seats?
English

@BarnHasSpoken2 I was at Dodger stadium in ‘97 for a Maddux shutout that he pitched in about 2 hours total. He was remarkable
English

@realboshek Dodgers did it with an underperforming Ohtani and anemic overall offense in 2024 so why not?
English

@BobbyMilone29 Lotsa confusion on the bullpen phone…
Get Gil up…
Hill?
No, Gil. Then get Cruz ready.
Cruz?
No, Cruz.

@AdamHorowitzLA Zero chance. Curt Schilling bloody sock performance no doubt
English

@nypostsports @MikeVacc @Joelsherman1 @JonHeyman I think anyone who grew up in the 80s probably could come to that conclusion pretty easily. Being a kid in the 80s and a Yankee fan was ROUGH.
English

Would the Yankees be better off today with George or Hal Steinbrenner?
@MikeVacc explains why after writing his new book, The Bosses of the Bronx, he came away believing the answer is Hal.

@joeygems @GaryMyersNY I loved Sevvy, the problem was, other than 18/19, he was never able to sustain it over a full season.
