I have some news. Stadium works will begin at Mac Point in July. Today, I can confirm the first two major contracts for Mac Point have been awarded. Tasmanian firm Hazell Bros have been awarded the contract for bulk earthworks. Hunter Mason will be handling the careful removal and reconstruction of the Goods Shed, which will then become a major part of the stadium precinct. You can expect to see machinery on site soon. Another step closer 💪

Today we can confirm the final two contenders to build Mac Point Stadium. Besix Watpac, and a joint venture between Webuild and CCO, with McConnell Dowell (who built the new Bridgewater Bridge) as a major partner. Both bids have experience in building major infrastructure to a world-class standard. They will now formulate their delivery plan, including how they can best involve the local workforce, before we select a preferred builder. Another step forward 💪
